Fantastic pub, great staff, great food what more can you ask for. I would highly recommend a visit to The Stag.
Food and service was excellent. The roast dinner is a must on a Sunday. We hadn’t booked but we found a tall table near the bar so we could have our tea. Will return 😊😊
We had a lovely Sunday meal everything was delicious the atmosphere was great, we stayed on for the pub quiz and won! Brilliant highly recommend.

We had an excellent Family New Years Day dinner The Stag yesterday. It was wonderful. The food was really tasty, great sized portions and piping hot. The service was impeccable - the young ladies that looked after us could not have done more - and the young gentleman that helped us take a few family snaps was very patient and a great shot :)
It was a very special day for us - a rare occasion - with a number of us jetting in from various countries including Oz. A really special day made even more special by our visit to The Stag. Thank you! We will be back! The Walsh-Eden Clan XXXX
Had Sunday lunch it was lovely but we ordered a large it was massive will order regular next time very friendly staff can't do enough for you lovely food will deffinatly go again

Great service from the lovely attentive staff. The Stag has always been a charming pub but it really looks stunning after all the renovations they’ve done in there. Lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing!
Had a fabulous meal, excellent value for money as it was the Thursday Feast night. The service was great and friendly, and the food was delicious. The portion sizes were generous. Thoroughly recommend it. Bon appetit!

Stopped off here after visiting my dad in Walton Garden of Remembrance for a drink. Pleasantly surprised how friendly the staff were and we opted to stay for lunch which, we all agreed was excellent and with little to no waiting for meals to be served. Meals were great and not small portions either..😁👍
Really nice and cosy inside. Tuesday they have 2-4-1 on meals and and cocktails and there is an offer on a Thursday for a free starter and dessert I believe with a main. Nice little pub
Traditional pub/restaurant...On good place near Manchester canal. Can seat as well outside, with view to bowling green. Good choice of beer's...
OK first getting told there's a 45 min wait for food as you walk in wasnt the best, i saw another couple leave and move on, they wasnt full.
However, plus points for honesty other places wouldnt have said and then upset customers with the wait, also not a fault of theirs but the phone signal was dead in there no idea why because it was great outside, Needs to supply and advertise a WiFi.
That said, it was worth it, the food was excellent and did in fact come out well inside the 45 minutes, the staff were great and super friendly and the place is modern, clean and really nice.
I would definately go back as I think this may have been teething issues.
Came here for a meal out. It was on one of the hottest days. Hence, it was quite hot in the bar area as the sun blazed onto it. The service was great once it got going, then the food was really tasty. The sea bass on mash was delicious. The bar area is dog friendly for food if you want.
Good food, warm plates and friendly and attentive staff. We had fish and chips and got tartare sauce in a bowl and not a sachet, which makes a change in a pub.
You can now sit and eat outside.
Recommended.
Had a nice Sunday dinner but was spoilt by hard veg...cauliflower & broccoli....& dry Turkey....it was very busy so I'll give them a break & see if there's improvement next time we visit.
Excellent family Sunday lunch. Great selection of starters, mains and desserts. Fantastic service too.
Will definitely visit again soon.

Food is reasonably priced and home made tasting, oreo cheesecake was absolutely gorgeous was the best part in my opinion
One of the waitresses we had was absolutely lovely, played and interacted with the baby and was a really nice woman who was really welcoming and warm, brought me extra gravy for my roast, asked plenty of times if we needed anything else, frequently asked if we needed any drinks etc. I didn't catch her name but she was absolutely lovely.
We was a large table with a large bill and there were no mistakes made, all the food was lovely, none of us had any complaints.
I have two very minor criticisms
-not enough gravy with the roast (but it is available upon request if you ask) and they balance everything on top of each other on the plate with the roast but the plates not big enough to move it around
- they add cress/greenery to every single dish which is annoying because everyone just picks it off so feels pointless
Other than those really small things it was really nice and a lovely place for a family meal. ☺️
Really nice local pub - however they’ve changed the menu and taken away some of the veggie items including the halloumi and chips which was delicious! Please bring this back or offer some alternative veggie items!
