Amazing meal with wonderful hosts, recommended as great meat place and didn’t disappoint- superb range of exotic meats available which was totally unexpected. Lovely and friendly welcome and great draught ales on tap with great wine selection. This little gem may be out of the way but it’s worth the journey to enjoy!

If you have never been to this restaurant I would highly advise you take a trip down! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, very cosy and warm and the food is another level!
You can try many different world meats such as zebra, crocodile and even python! The prices are more than fair and the staff are the most friendly people you will ever have to host your meal. Will definitely be back for more! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

The food is out of this world, such an original idea, but executed so well. They bring you which meats you would like, and then bring you an individual hot plate where you cook all of your own food, but if I could give it 10 stars out of 5 I would!

What an amazing gem! So glad I was recommended to come here whilst working up north. Service and staff are so warm and welcoming. Food is as different, as you’d expect it to be. I've dared the meats out of Africa several times now, and have not disappointed!

The menu is most interesting, diverse and surprising! I chose a South African inspired fish dish and it was very tasty and well cooked.
The lady who served us was very friendly and attentive.
It certainly is worth a visit!

Great food. Generous portions. Fair prices. Quirky internal layout and quaint setting make this place a treat.

Great place, amazing food. Love the range of meats you can cook yourself on the hot stone. Highly recommended.

Came here for a Mother's Day lunch and honestly I was completely unprepared for how enjoyable the whole thing would be. I had a sirloin steak and it was very good, and we all shared some of the exotic meats like zebra and llama. The whole restaurant has a sort of chaotic energy but the lady who served us was genuinely lovely, despite being absolutely rushed off her feet, and I wouldn't hesitate to go again.

Popped over with hubby while on a drive out. Staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. Hubby had lunch and said it was delicious and worth the money. He had a steak baguette and I have to say it was big and a proper steak. Toilets were clean but a bit dated. The outside area had been done lovely, individual gazebos for groups, lots of space. We will definitely call again, looking forward to sampling the evening menu. The focus is definitely on meat and seafood from what I saw, there was a vegetable stir fry on the lunch menu so I assume there will be veggie options in the evening too but may be worth a call to check what's available beforehand.

Been several times and loved the "hot rock" steaks so you can cook it just how you like it, sooooo good

Not the cheapest place, but good food isnt cheap, and i have never had a bad steak here

Its good ;)

Despite being located but a stone’s throw from my abode, I’d only ever been to the Chetwode Arms once. I found it to be expensive - astronomically so – and could still recollect with alarming clarity the palpitations, chest pains and shortness of breath that accompanied the arrival of the bill. On a positive note, Pete Waterman was there that evening. Apparently it’s his local, and he’s mighty attached to it. He would never, by all accounts, give it up, let it down, run around or desert it (to quote Waterman protégé Rick Astley, Newton-le-Willows’ most notorious musical exponent). LIKE A DUCK TO WATERMAN This is as picturesque a country pub as you could ever hope to encounter. Located just off the A49 – a road so appealing to tractors that they feel the need to converge on it in vast numbers during rush hour – it sits roughly equidistant between Warrington and Northwich. The proprietors are South African and, whilst this influence doesn’t predominate in terms of the menu’s composition

What a find! Food was truly delicious coupled with friendly of staff, made for a lovely experience. A lovely family run traditional pub, eclectic decor which is fun and playful. I had the beef Wellington which was perhaps the best I have ever had! The hot stone cooked meats look fantastic, an incredible menu offering every type of meat! Good parking and a friendly welcome from the dogs. Can not recommend this little gem enough, will be defiantly making a return visit!

A traditional country pub with small rooms and low doorways. A good selection of beer and a fabulous menu. Taking its guide from overseas, there is a great selection of dishes which are all recognisable, whilst at the same time being unusual - like the tuna steak brought to you still cooking on the hot slab of rock it was baked on. If you have never been, it is well worth a trip.
