Our family (including a 20 mth old baby) had Sunday lunch here today. The food and service were amazing. The staff literally couldn't do enough for us. The food (we had 2 courses) was delivered promptly and was cooked to perfection. The lamb shank was delicious, the meat and vegetables were cooked perfectly. The staff were super helpful, polite and were fantastic with my daughter. The wine was super cheap but gorgeous. All in all a fantastic family lunch. Thank you!
Nice food, just enough vegetarian options on the menu to give me some choice, desserts were good too, always important!! It was busy but service was good. Nice location. All in, a nice meal out. We'll definitely be back. :)
Got to admit - I was more than impressed! We last ate as a family at your place about 3 years ago and it was a less than impressive meal & visit.
We saw the roasts for a fiver and thought we would give you another go!
Amazing food, excellent choice and a really cosy and welcoming atmosphere! We will be back again!
PS. The lamb was cooked perfectly!
We booked a table for 5 adults today..we all had roast...really nice..thank you so much...friendly staff and lovely food..well done chef and staff x
Really good food, a perfect seat upstairs by the window and polite staff , lovely day
A holiday to Warsash meant a meal here, which was really lovely. The Rising Sun is dog friendly, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Kelly and the team made sure both ourselves, the dogs, and all customers were looked after. This place was worth the visit, and we are already planning another visit next year. Warsash has great WWII history and its place on the river Hamble and its pretty harbour of boats and yachts is so worth seeing.
We visited twice within a week April 2022 with family group to celebrate my grandma's birthday and were made to feel very welcome. Service was warm and friendly, especially to our special birthday lady. Thankyou 😍 great location.
A decent pub visit for some drinks with family and my husband! It's a cozy, welcoming pub with a good drink selection. I enjoyed a nice crisp Guinness!
They're dog-friendly and have a doggie water bowl out front too! Note that there's only paid-parking in the area. Within walking distance to the Hamble ferry.
Come in on my own for food everyone was so lovely it was such a beautiful pub clean and warm. Right next to the water. The blond lady on the bar was very welcoming. The chef lady brought my food out with a warming smile and the food was perfect and come so quickly. The 4 staff I had contact with were so lovely. Can't recommend enough!
Very nice pub, friendly staff, good food, reasonably priced.
We’ve late breakfast at Saturday morning, foods are delicious and love to sit at the big window, a good view of the sea side!
Fabulous position with lots of parking(public) which was free after 6pm,very warm welcome and great service We all had fish and chips which were delicious, with great quality fish.
Only disappointment was the cost of the wine,I must admit I didn't check the price and was shocked when I realised it was £8.37 a glass so unfortunately my 2 glasses cost £16.74 😕
What a lovely welcome you get here from Sharon and Kelly.
The pub is in a lovely setting with friendly people.
The food was very tasty too.
I haven't been here for 47 years, it has changed a tad .....
I'm now living back in the Warsash area as it happens, and the pub is still going strong.
The quiet old Hamble I knew in the 1970s is now hugely busy and full of (moored) plastic boats that don't seem to go out often.
Nice pub, Greene King, food came out quick and was very fresh and tasty. Beers were tasty and obviously from a well-kept cellar.
Great pub on the harbour at Warsash.
Service friendly and professional, willing to help.
Gnocchi was superb fir a light lunch and other guests meals looked well portioned and freshly cooked. Reasonable priced lunch. Wide variety available.
Well attended so booking is advisable
Well recommended.

Some fantastic walks
The Howard's way walk ref the old 80,s TV series
Great old pub feel, no seating out front and found backgarden seating a bit late but our drinks were lovely and well earned and being dog friendly was super. The only thing I would be negative about is one of the tables we were going to sit at was covered with spilt drink and all over the floor underneath. We moved and mentioned it was thanked, will get it cleared up but in the time we were there which was about an hour it hadn't been so bit of a, safety hazard. But lovely people and great service
First time visiting with my fiancée. The atmosphere was great, staff helpful and attentive. Try to get an upstairs table if you can, fantastic views over the harbour.
Really cool pub. Vibrant downstairs, tranquil upstairs. Great views across Hamble Marina out to Southampton Water. Three Greene King cask ales, and the typical Greene King menu which is rather heavy on meat and stodge, but amongst the small print a reasonably healthy and environmentally friendly plant based meal can be extracted. I like Greene King beers, but I do tend to despair of their menus. From Hungry Horse up to Chef & Brewer, the focus on chips, cheese, and meat is not encouraging or exciting in this day and age. However, the menus are popular and bring in a profit, so why should Greene King care? That said, the food is generally as you'd expect from that sort of menu - comforting rather than connoisseur. Food that people are not going to complain about, as it is often what we get at home, but presented more attractively. Our food was presented attractively, tasted nice, and was satisfying. Our waitress, Sarah, was attentive, pleasant, and did everything required, even though the upstairs room was almost full. We didn't wait long for anything - drinks, food, confirmation that everything was OK, and the bill, arrived promptly and with the ghost of a smile. Decent lunch time meal for two with drinks came to less than £30 in well run, comfortable surroundings in a room with possibly the best views in the area. Anyone coming here, provided they accept the limitations of the menu (and I totally do - The Greene King name is clearly displayed outside, so you know what you're getting), are not going to be disappointed.
Quibbles? Yes. Two. On arriving at the pub we had to pass two smokers by the porch. We were forced to breathe in the toxins from their cigarette smoke, and endure the smell on our clothes. Smokers should be encouraged to stand well away from entrances when smoking. We, along with another party who had booked, were directed upstairs where someone would show us to our tables. Sadly there was nobody upstairs, and we all had to stand aimlessly waiting for someone to turn up and tell us where our tables were.
Do these quibbles really matter? Yes and no. Smokers seem to stand at the entrance to most pubs, and few pubs seem to have the will to insist that smokers stand away from the entrance. It matters, but the problem, to be fair, is not unique to the Rising Sun. And that the upstairs waitress was not available at that particular moment is not something the pub should be damned for. It happens. But perhaps a little thought, like having clearer table numbers so people can find their tables themselves at busy times, would be useful.
OK. Quibbles aside, this is one of the best pubs in the Southampton area, and if you've not been is well worth seeking out. There is a public car park right in front of the pub.
Fantastic service, all 3 ladies were welcoming and really accommodating as soon as we stepped in. Delicious food and great drinks. Lovely view of the harbour and cosy decor inside. Really recommend
Staff worked very hard to please. Food reasonable, very affordable. Location great. Only reason not 5 star is that I watched my food walked around by the waitress even though I said "excuse me I think that's mine" she said no and took it back to the kitchen before returning it to me a minute later 🙄
Had a lovely meal here last Sunday. The service was first class and the food exceeded all expectation. I was shocked how reasonably priced the total cost was for the meals we ordered. Highly recommended
