Lovely little place, stayed for 1 night. Very modern and clean rooms which appeared freshly decorated too. Although exceptionally warm, fan was provided, which helped. We had our dog with us who struggled with the warmth of the room. The dining room is beautifully rustic and again very clean, do
We went last night (Thursday) for steak night. 40 quid for two steaks and a bottle of wine. We upgraded to rib eye for an extra fiver each. It was lovely, the steaks were tender and had lots of flavour. It was a nice busy atmosphere with good tunes playing. The new staff are very pleasant, polite an
Stopped at this little gem for a pint and ended up having dinner as the food looked that good. We were not disappointed, the steak pie was something else probably one of the best I have ever had. The staff were really friendly and the girl that served me was really nice. Definitely get back there on
Had a lovely vegan burger with chips (on a Tuesday - which is apparently very hard to find any restaurant). The chips were freshly fried. Good selection of ingredients on the burger. Would have loved if the bun was toasted. Thank you!
Had a delicious home-cooked bar meal. Lovely atmosphere, great service and reasonable prices. Good selection of beers.
Stayed as a party of 7 in 4 rooms travelling for my sons graduation in Carlisle. We arrived quite late having travelled up from Leeds but the staff were very accommodating, quickly sorting out our keys. As we had to leave early the following morning, the hotel offered to have our full cooked breakfa
We had a really great stay. Spent evening in the dining room where the family had a fantastic meal. Rooms were clean, well decorated and the staff really lovely. Would recommend to others.
Welcomed warmly - we stayed in our campervan in the level car park. Fabulous beer, super tasty food and great wine selection. Staff could not have been more friendly. Short beautiful circular walk can be done from carpark - very enjoyable. So fantastic in fact over a week later on our way home fro
Delicious food, warm welcome and a lovely spot for an overnight stop on our way to Scotland. Definitely recommended.
Well located restaurant (and hostel) with amazing food. The price is a little expensive but not to much (sunday roast around 15 pounds). The place has a playground area for the kids and parking.
A great place to eat. Dog friendly. Friendly staff and good food at an affordable price. Food fresh and tasty.
Lovely staff and clean and cozy rooms. 10 minutes or so away from the city centre. (Taxi!) Very relaxed atmosphere in the pub and the hotel.
Great for children with small village play area adjacent. Dog walks from the car park. We only stopped for lunch so can't comment on the rooms
A gorgeous old building with a bright cosy modern interior, and a lovely warm welcome. We had a great stay here. Just a quick overnight stay beginning with a few pints of well-kept and tasty beer. Our room was big, comfortable and cosy. Good shower in the morning and then downstairs for a delicious
A brilliant find! Nice warm friendly pub in a beautiful setting. Food was yummy, served quickly & pipping hot. Our 2 doggies were made welcome with a bowl of water too. We will be returning again 👍
Lovely lunch, very tasty. Beautiful grounds and setting. We will be back.
