Review The George Country Inn - Wath

Just had a really delicious meal at The George in Wath, so would thoroughly recommend. Was shown a couple of the bedrooms and they looked very comfortable too. I know they are waiting for the phone line to be installed so don't be put off if you can immediately make contact - I popped in because I was local to check they had space. Definitely worth the effort of an email.

Such a lovely pub in a pretty little village called Wrath, North Yorkshire off A1M. It’s conveniently located if you are travelling nearby on the motorway as the food was delicious and they catered well for gluten free veggie options too!

New owners. Amazing food. Great Sunday Roast. All freshly prepared and very tasty. Would definitely recommend 👍

First time we have tried a boy was we impressed. Not your normal foody menu more like tapas and it was excellent. Really friendly,great location worth the drive from Middlesbrough.

The best Sunday lunch we’ve had in a very long time. Starters were delicious and the roast beef perfectly cooked, rare and very tender. Wonderful hosts, nothing too much trouble. Fabulous wine list, had a super bottle of Gavi. Can’t wait to go back!

Attended my niece's birthday party. A nice country pub plenty of room in the beer garden .

Beautiful little pub, real idilic and they even had a steam engine there was I arrived.

We stayed at The George Country Inn from 25th - 28th May 2022 We had just travelled up from Plymouth on a 6 hour car journey and on arrival we were shown to our room. Wow , the room was decorated to a high standard and so clean and fresh smelling. Absolutely spotless. We had the Deluxe room with views onto the village. So very peaceful and relaxing after the long journey. The evening meal at the pub was wholesome and the service was second to none. The bed in the Deluxe room was so comfortable, just what we needed after the long drive. Breakfast, chosen the night before, was served promptly when seated in the breakfast room each morning. Again spotlessly clean and well decorated with a totally relaxed vibe. We will be back again and look forward to being welcomed again by Joe and Nathan Thank you Julie and Barrie

The room was lovely, very clean d modern. Unfortunately due to staff the pub and kitchen was closed when we stayed, but a lovely continental breakfast was still provided and the owner was able to cater for my girlfriend who is coeliac. We'd stay again.

Had another fab Sunday lunch here today £7.95 for a plate of Sunday lunch. Best pork I've tasted in a long time. Highly recommend lunch and evening meal here.

This place is faultless and amazing place to stay staff excellent food fabulous rooms spot on and really nice bar area can't wait to stay again

Just had a gorgeous meal at the pub. We live in the village so decided to support the local pub. We had Sunday dinner pork and beef, there was plenty of veg too. All the staff were very friendly and accomodating. We will definitely be returning again thank you x

Never had a bad meal yet and I'm slowly making my way through the menu. Great atmosphere and so good with my little boys.

Just fabulous, took our kids, very welcomed, lots to do around but to be honest we could have stayed at The George the whole time ... Great accommodation, hosts, food, wine and especially the last minute cheese board .... Thank you, we will be back and recommend xxx
