Called in for a pint late afternoon on a Saturday - good service, decent selection of beers and lagers and a nice garden. Didn't have food this time so can't comment.

Brilliant pub. We had a special celebration meal there and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The food is always good. I really appreciate the accessibility. I can manage on my stick, because everything is level inside, and at the entrance there is only a very gentle ramp. It's one of our locals and it never disappoints. The staff make it a wonderful experience to dine there.

An excellent experience. It’s so refreshing these days for staff to be as attentive as they were here. Food was very good, had to send a steak back as it was undercooked but this was dealt with very professionally by the staff and management. Reasonably priced and extensive menu. Will definitely be returning soon. Good ambience and background music played at an appropriate level

We called in at the Hanging Gate without a booking and even though they were expecting a large party of 29 people any minute, they managed to squeeze us in and serve us excellent meals and desserts. Both the food and service was of the highest quality. The landlady, who has recently taken over, was exceptional and certainly knows how things should be run! We will definitely be back sooner rather than later!

Went for lunch , nice surroundings ,very friendly staff, great food. Was told they serve meals Monday to Thursday between 3pm&6pm with 20pc off food bill if paid by 6pm. Good deal. Will try this soon.

Unfortunatly a "spur of the moment" visit on a hot Friday evening.
Very busy inside and outside and food unavailable for two hours due to a pre booked party. Found a seat and had a drink, obviously a very popular, so we moved on.
