Followed Google map review to here when running errands around. Best decision ever. The owner/manager and staff were so welcoming and the service was super speedy (even one hour before closing!). Lovely interior and soothing music. Had flat iron steak n fries with a cider as lunch set menu. Cider was very refreshing, the steak was even more surprising : tender, juicy, not chewy at all, in appreciate temperature, nicely selected and correctly beautifully cooked with care! So much better than so many so called big name franchise restaurants! Fries and salad were also at it's best. It was a very successful adventure today and would definitely recommend to everyone.

On recommendation from a friend went here for breakfast this morning. Had the baby full English with coffee. Very clean premises. Nice staff. Coffee arrived promptly. Breakfast took about 10 mins but was worth the wait. Everything cooked well. Nice touches with thyme on the mushrooms and tomatoes. Sausage was lovely, will have to ask for supplier. Worth every penny. Will be back for more.

Service and food was excellent. We went in for brunch and had a full English and Eggs Royal. Very tasty. 3 of us for brunch, toast and drinks was £27, great value. Alcohol available from the bar from lunchtime.

A really friendly place, with excellently kept real ale (Butty Bach and HPA). We popped in for Saturday lunch, had two starters, two mains, a lime and soda and a pint of the B.B. £42.50. The starters were good - the salad was delicious if a little steeply priced, the chicken was spiced well. The burgers were good (the sweet potato fries excellent) but the meat one was a little undercooked in the middle whilst a little too dark on the outside, suggesting the heat had been up a little too high. The burger buns were vastly superior to the usual fall-apart-brioche fare but sadly had also caught a little under the grill which meant that the meat burger tasted a bit too much of carbon. Really attentive service, excellent beer, a welcome addition to Wellington. And the service and food were super quick - we were in and out in an hour, which was really good considering it was all freshly made. Thank you!

I'm posting this on behalf of HEADMASTERS salon members... So, Friday 5th November 5.15 staff meeting...only this one was different! We held it at The Walnut. 😋 And what a good choice that was! Food ✅️ Delicious! Well done Karen, everything was cooked to perfection and sooo tasty! We're telling all our clients about our visit! Service ✅️ Spot on! And us being hairdressers we know a lot about service! Well done and thank you to the staff for being so attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly and welcoming. Surroundings ✅️ a lovely blend of feeling somewhere special but with a cosy, homely feel too. Wellington has become a foodie town! And The Walnut should be top of your list of places to try!

First meal in Wellington and i was pretty happy with the food (walk in without knowing what to expect or reading reviews beforehand). The lunch set is affordable and good quality.

Lovely place. I only had a coffee and an ice cream but the meals looked delicious and I heard many customers giving compliments. I’ll definitely return.

What can I say....fantastic. Great welcome from Karen, who helped my disabled wife to our table. The menu had lots to choose from catering for different diners. The food we chose was lovely. We will return.
