The Albatros - Wells-next-the-Sea - Photo album

Such a cool place to eat pancakes on the river! We watched the boats sail in on the deck, while eating delicious pancakes. We then went below deck to have apple cake and tea which was also delicious and were treated to live music on a Sunday. The toilets could be improved as it was odd to see washin
Lovely place to have a drink and soak up the view - the Wherry comes straight from the cask and is absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced too. Have not eaten there but the food is Dutch, so lots of sweet and savoury pancakes to choose from. There is seating below deck (with steep stairs to go down)
Wonderfully cozy and atmospheric bar below deck, friendly service. We went in just for pancakes. A steady stream of food coming out of the kitchen so we had a little wait, but the pancakes were lovely (though I felt they could have been served a little hotter).
It was really lovely. I definitely recommend the coffee with amaretto. I had the mini pancakes with apple, cinnamon, sirop and whipped cream. The apples are stewed/poached and it was absolutely lovely on the deck with my husband who had the Belgian waffle. It would have been nice to have table servi
I love this place. Sweet or savory pancakes to die for. Take care getting down into the boat, if that's a struggle or you've a dog then stay in deck. They take card too. In poor weather it's likely to fill up downstairs as there's only 6 or 7 tables. The ale is real too.
Great food, not bad price wise, good atmosphere and dogs are allowed, which for an animal lover like me, is great news. It's a great place to go with friends and / or family, or even alone. I have been here multiple times and always highly recommend it to everyone I know. Definitely worth a visit if
We found this quirky little bar on our first visit to Norfolk and fell in love with it. Live music and fantastic atmosphere. Met some lovely people onboard. It also has B&B accommodation for those who want an adventure.
Beautiful and different setting for enjoying something to eat and drink. The food šŸ² was straight forward no nonsense type and very tasty at a reasonable price for Wells-next-to-Sea.Would recommend this sailing ship cum restaurant moored at the quayside for anyone who in to doing something different
You must try this place it's quirky but fantastic. The food is amazing, forget your gastro pubs and upscale diners just try the pancakes and drinks here Nd you will not be disappointed. Well worth a visit, however, book ahead if you want a table to eat.
At day it provides a pirate style sea side ho feel, yet at night it is romantic with fairy lights. The food is freshly made at the tavern style yum indoor downstairs section of the boat, with a small selection of drinks and savoury or sweet foods. Mainly pancakes - haha! The one stop sweet spot for
Amazing pancakes!! A lovely atmosphere with a wonderful view. The Staff did take a while to serve and clear away but I think this was due to their high demand on the day!
Had great couple of days in Wells, the highlight was the great staff and mussels we had on the Albatros clipper boat! Friday we had some very talented musicians in the bowels of the boat. Great atmosphere, great food, great setup and must visit if in the area!! Paul & H.
The Albatros is just UNIQUE! A former Dutch cargo ship built in 1899 as a North Sea clipper, now permanently moored alongside the Quay of Wells-next-the-sea. Converted as a bar, restaurant, music venue and B&B, sheā€™s become a major tourist attraction and known to many as the ā€˜Pancake Boatā€™. Pop in f
Place with character! It has got a location, serves decent pint. It has also history and good atmosphere. Good views from the deck are a bonus.
The Captain made me a brie, ham and cranberry pancake - we were a tad late but the Captain could see we were having a bad day. The Car broke down in the middle of nowhere and AA pretty much whacked the engine with a stick. We got to the ship late but the Captain could see we were hungry he was hap
Take care! If you have a taste for Real Ale this is an excellent port of call, provided you can get up and down the steep stairs to the cabin below! Recommended.
