Such a cool place to eat pancakes on the river! We watched the boats sail in on the deck, while eating delicious pancakes. We then went below deck to have apple cake and tea which was also delicious and were treated to live music on a Sunday. The toilets could be improved as it was odd to see washing up being done in the sink I wash my hands in....

Lovely place to have a drink and soak up the view - the Wherry comes straight from the cask and is absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced too. Have not eaten there but the food is Dutch, so lots of sweet and savoury pancakes to choose from. There is seating below deck (with steep stairs to go down) but it's well worth sitting up on the deck for the view. Just remember you are sitting underneath where the birds are perched!

Wonderfully cozy and atmospheric bar below deck, friendly service. We went in just for pancakes. A steady stream of food coming out of the kitchen so we had a little wait, but the pancakes were lovely (though I felt they could have been served a little hotter).

It was really lovely. I definitely recommend the coffee with amaretto. I had the mini pancakes with apple, cinnamon, sirop and whipped cream. The apples are stewed/poached and it was absolutely lovely on the deck with my husband who had the Belgian waffle. It would have been nice to have table service, where someone takes orders at tables and be shown to a table but it was a midweek afternoon.

I love this place. Sweet or savory pancakes to die for. Take care getting down into the boat, if that's a struggle or you've a dog then stay in deck. They take card too. In poor weather it's likely to fill up downstairs as there's only 6 or 7 tables. The ale is real too.

Great food, not bad price wise, good atmosphere and dogs are allowed, which for an animal lover like me, is great news. It's a great place to go with friends and / or family, or even alone. I have been here multiple times and always highly recommend it to everyone I know. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We found this quirky little bar on our first visit to Norfolk and fell in love with it. Live music and fantastic atmosphere. Met some lovely people onboard. It also has B&B accommodation for those who want an adventure.

Beautiful and different setting for enjoying something to eat and drink. The food 🍲 was straight forward no nonsense type and very tasty at a reasonable price for Wells-next-to-Sea.Would recommend this sailing ship cum restaurant moored at the quayside for anyone who in to doing something different for the day.
Staff were very friendly and a great atmosphere especially with the live music on our visit.

You must try this place it's quirky but fantastic. The food is amazing, forget your gastro pubs and upscale diners just try the pancakes and drinks here Nd you will not be disappointed. Well worth a visit, however, book ahead if you want a table to eat.

At day it provides a pirate style sea side ho feel, yet at night it is romantic with fairy lights. The food is freshly made at the tavern style yum indoor downstairs section of the boat, with a small selection of drinks and savoury or sweet foods. Mainly pancakes - haha! The one stop sweet spot for any pancake lova

Amazing pancakes!! A lovely atmosphere with a wonderful view. The Staff did take a while to serve and clear away but I think this was due to their high demand on the day!

Had great couple of days in Wells, the highlight was the great staff and mussels we had on the Albatros clipper boat! Friday we had some very talented musicians in the bowels of the boat. Great atmosphere, great food, great setup and must visit if in the area!!

The Albatros is just UNIQUE! A former Dutch cargo ship built in 1899 as a North Sea clipper, now permanently moored alongside the Quay of Wells-next-the-sea. Converted as a bar, restaurant, music venue and B&B, she’s become a major tourist attraction and known to many as the ‘Pancake Boat’. Pop in for scrumptious Dutch Pancakes, or try the Pea Soup. Say hi to Captain Ton, a legend in Wells and ask about staying on the boat. Or pop along on Friday night to see what band is playing and sink a pint or two of Wherry! Mousetrap is a neighbour, so we're biased, check it out for yourself...

Place with character! It has got a location, serves decent pint. It has also history and good atmosphere. Good views from the deck are a bonus.

The Captain made me a brie, ham and cranberry pancake - we were a tad late but the Captain could see we were having a bad day.
The Car broke down in the middle of nowhere and AA pretty much whacked the engine with a stick. We got to the ship late but the Captain could see we were hungry he was happy to make us a wonderful meal.

Take care! If you have a taste for Real Ale this is an excellent port of call, provided you can get up and down the steep stairs to the cabin below! Recommended.

I had the most fabulous birthday lunch on the Albatross yesterday. I loved how tables were sloped and stairs were steep. This added to the charm of the place. The staff are so friendly and helpful and so very accommodating. And wow the food was just amazing! I really cannot wait to go again!!! I'm so grateful to my friend for taking us there. What a gem of a place!!!

We stumbled across this unique restaurant by changed and went back the following night. It is Fantastic to have delicious dinner on the deck or down below (we did both). On our second night we had 4 dogs in tow and the staff made us feel so welcome. Truly a great place, super friendly staff and local Crab on the menu, perfect!

I had been told about the special place plenty of times but hadn't make it there until today.

I drove from Cambridge with my partner David he and I are both chefs.
Well I was for 7 years and he still is and the food was just brilliant.
The prawn salad was to die for.
So fresh.
And such a beautiful setting.
It was definitely worth the 2 hour drive for sure we will return at some point.
Well done.

Absolutely amazing little gem. Great local draught beer straight from the keg, deliciously made pancakes (I had the chorizo, basil and mozzarella) and as for Captain Tons Oma's apple cake??? Next level of dessert. Well worth the 90mile round trip.

Great food, friendly service lovely place to eat and well kept beer. Looking forward to coming back😊

Delicious pancakes, friendly service, and a beautiful evening view, watching the sun go down - loved it!

Laid back comfort and the best breakfast we've eaten in ages!

We've stayed on the Albatross many times over the years with friends and family, all ages. Always a warm welcome and a fantastic breakfast. Excellent value, great location and lots of fun. Thanks Captain Ton and crew.
Rachel Davies-Buss
Best pancakes ever !! Captain Ton is the perfect host, all the staff very friendly and helpful, quirky little setting being on and inside the boat, definitely worth a visit if you're in Wells !!

The Albatross is my main reason for going to Wells. My friend and I go there regularly for the great atmosphere, the music, and the great pancakes. Goats cheese and mozzarella is my favourite. It's a must if you visit wells. Boat has an interesting history too.

Great evening and stay on the Albatross. Staff were lovely and the pancakes excellent (great Dutch chef). Live music from RSJ made Saturday night perfect. Brilliant atmosphere.
Just make sure you check your booking before arriving especially if booked via the website.....

Every time we go to Wells we always go on the Albatross. Last Sunday was lovely chilling out listening to folky music. A shame one of us had to drive home or we would have stopped through the night. One day I will try the pancakes they look so yummy.
Christine Jo
Two great nights of live music. A real friendly, chilled atmosphere. Definitely be back. Be great if some money could be spent on tidying up the outside but doesn't spoil an overall fantastic experience. Thanks x

An awful long wait and food nothing special. Dutch frikandellen which I can buy in Holland for a very low price for 20 were on the special board for £11.99 for 2. I know everyone needs to make a living but this is a little too much!
Ruth DAndrea
Fantastic, quirky little place for a wonderful Dutch pancake. We even had a lovely man singing traditional folk songs and playing his guitar. Highly recommended be careful going down the very steep steps to the indoor seating area. We can't wait to get back during the summer so we can sit on the top deck
