Lovely staff, we felt very welcome. The food was great and good value and the rooms were nice and comfortable. We had a great stay and will definitely return.
16 of us had a lovely meal here on Saturday night . The beer is good and Carston was so friendly and we were all relaxed and happy. The food was superb all fresh and everyone enjoyed it , Pete said it's the best lamb shank he'd ever had. When Sue came out of the kitchen we gave her a big cheer. Good
Excellent pub. Sunday roast was gorgeous ! Children had games to play, all staff were friendly and attentive with my daughters and that was a lovely touch. Cillian was a great barman and the music was superb when he jumped on the guitar. We will definitely be back !!
Great place, amazing hospitality, brilliant warm and welcoming ambience with various themed evenings. Well worth a visit.
Lovely quirky accommodation. Nicely decorated and clean with soft towels. The hosts very very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very nice too. It's not far from the centre of Wells and has parking on site. I would definitely return
Very friendly owners. The dogs are real characters. Stopped here for a drink and had a good chat with the owner. Would stop again. Menu looked good too though we did not eat.
A very good experience lovely atmosphere the husband and wife owners and a young man staff member where tremendous company and great fun, my room and en suite all clean and tidy comfortable bed, breakfast was good with a sensible size pot of tea. A great bonus is they have off street parking as anyo
This is a brilliant place. The owner is a quirky gentleman who has led a very interesting life. The food is well cooked by his wife and is very reasonably priced. If you don't want the usual fast pace service, this is the place for you.
Sue and Carsten are great hosts. Food is good, decent selection of Adnams beers and sometimes other local ones (plus bottles and other usual pub things). It's a sort of community feeling in there. Not too pretentious but draws a decent sort of people.
Really liked it here. A little quirky. Great food and very reasonably priced. Often have music evenings and we went to see Lee Vasey. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. We would go again 👍
I went here for lunch today. The owner is extremly friendly and its wonderful to go back to an old school landlord who wants to know about you and have a conversation. Good prices for food and drink as well. The only improvement i could suggest would be to add more vegetarian options onto the menu.
Loved it. Next door to The Cobblers where we stayed. Pub was having a party night with 60's music. Absolutely brilliant night. The host was brilliant too. Very friendly and caring.
Stayed here for the third time. Carson and Sue are grate hostes. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is very good. The premises is very well located within Wells to enable easy access to the rest of the town.
Good beer, if not a massive selection. Super friendly service, quieter than most of the overrun bar, food-like pubs nearby. A little glum inside so grab a bench outside if the weather's on your side.
Home cooked food, really tasty and a generous portion. Dogs welcome, friendly staff, simple menu and a good beer selection. Will come again
Nicely decorated and lively atmosphere English pub. Live music was also good, engaging the audience. Quite a few locals also drinking and socialising in here, which is good to see(e.g. supporting their local).
Good food, lovely atmosphere. Carsten was very welcoming to are whole group. Would definitely go back. A hidden gem.
Good choice of beer. The owner is really friendly, nice bloke. And the food was good as well. We've booked to go back.
