Absolutely wonderful grounds. Food was great. Even though on the post-Christmas diet, the Superfood Salad was amazing. The teenage boys loved the experience, just wished we had more time to experience the golf and the main restaurant, especially if the club house food was so great!

I work as a professional toastmaster and master of ceremonies and visit venues all over the country. Brocket Hall has been run exceptionally well on every occasion I have had the pleasure of visiting. The head Butler Allan keeps a "tight ship" and his and his teams attention to detail is excellent. I thoroughly recommend it as a venue.

I have just returned from an excellent trip to Brocket Hall. We stayed in Melbourne Lodge and the room was very comfortable and a lovely size with stunning views over the parkland. The meal we had at Auberge Du Lac was exceptional. This morning we explored the grounds and Melbourne golf course. It's beautiful. I'm inspired to improve my golf so I can play it. It would have been the perfect end to the trip.

As a Traditional Wedding Toastmaster I would like say what a delightful and romantic venue Brocket Hall is. There are three locations to choose and surrounded in the most picturesque grounds. An impeccable team will ensure your Wedding Day will be most memorable and relaxing.

Yesterday had a surprise Afternoon Tea in the stunning Ballroom for a significant "shush" Birthday Celebration. Brocket Hall is a beautiful venue. A welcoming smile from Adam Treloar and eager to assist. Hospitality was excellent and the afternoon was topped by an open house look around the hall. Thank you for a lovely afternoon everyone.

Just completed and enjoyed, after a few months planning, a wonderful 50th Birthday Bash for my wife at the Oak Room. Clare Miller worked very well and communicated frequently, keeping me in the loop and, knowing how fussy ish I can be, ensuring all was ok. Staff were pleasant and did their thing well. Guests had a fab time. (Check my Fb posts!) From start to finish Clare was a true professional who I am glad to have helping me and who I can now call a friend. Great venue. Lovely accommodation too. Large rooms (even the high hurdle baths!) Would definitely use again.

....but remember that the 900 or so members have had their membership cancelled by Dieter Klostermann - the Director of the Jersey company who owns the lease and issued Life Memberships until 2056. Dieter Klostermann who has overseen the running and demise of this Club has left hundreds of local creditors out of pocket while having transferred £8m to his Jersey co. Klostermann has now re-emerged debt-free as a Director (as has Jim Moore) of the new company presumably hoping that the members will just walk away and forget the friendships and in some cases the lifetimes work that has gone into making this Club what it was. They need to think again. Please share, share share!

We had Sunday lunch at Auberge du Lac and the food and hospitality was incredible! Stepping up to the building it seemed very low key, but as you walk in and go downstairs to the dining area, the dining room and outdoor area (where we had our meal) were really picturesque. Bilal was great as our host - friendly, welcoming, funny and great to chat to! The location was fantastic too - just over the river from the golf clubhouse, the quaint building which the restaurant was in offered great views back across to the golf club. The food was really well presented and tasted as good as it looked (it was a shame to ruin some of the dishes by sticking cutlery into it!) There was something for everyone too with a good mix of meat, pasta and other vegetarian options on the menu. A great experience! Well worth the price. Thanks again to Bilal and the team for being so welcoming and making our meal memorable.

We went there to celebrate my mum’s birthday, I forgot to mention my mum can’t eat gluten but it was absolutely no problem to accommodate her. Staff was professional and super nice 👌 food was excellent 👌 Also we went there with our 2 months baby so we were a bit nervous but staff was so lovely and make sure we all feel welcome and relaxed. We will definitely come back :) thank you very much 🥰

Updating my review following a perfect lunch this weekend. It has reopened as good as ever. Scot and the team deliver the same friendly, enthusiastic, expert service. And the food matched the service in quality. £39 set lunch on certain days is brilliant value. 2018: Cracking dinner with superb food and lovely service

We went for an 18th birthday meal. It was definitely a culinary and sensory experience! The food was amazing (only gripe was that the main course could have been hotter!). We were worried about the portion sizes (posh food can look superb but be a little small) but were pleasantly surprised that they were larger than anticipated. The staff were excellent throughout. Nothing was a problem, they were happy to chat briefly and were full of smiles. One noisy table did upset us at one point, but the staff were very quick to request they tone it down. The welcome snack (something with pea and avocado) was delicious, as were the petit fours at the end (and since we don't eat in high end restaurants very often we did not know or expect these). Starters were delicious. Duck parfait, ricotta tart, scallops, sea bass. Such a lot of flavour! Mains were fantastic. Beef, lamb, haddock, risotto and sides of salad and Garden veg. Desserts superb. Strawberry, chocolate mint. Yes of course this all came at a price but for a super special event it was worth it.

What a lovely evening as usual. They really are working towards a very warm and welcoming place to meet and eat. Aperitifs on the river terrace is a must Lovely watching Bilal working so hard helping the younger staff. George was great, very informative and charming. Good for them when recruiting is so difficult these days in the entertainment industry Amy at front of house is superb As for the food, say no more Looking forward to returning very soon Warm Regards Nigel & Karen Bass

A slightly bizarre experience - we were welcomed warmly, taken to our table, and given a menu for pre-dinner drinks. No food menus were brought. We ordered drinks, which arrived, but still no menus! So we asked for them. No wine list brought. So we asked for one. All rather odd. The starters were mixed - a bland crab risotto, a rather vinegary tartare, an excellent parfait and a crispy egg which needed to be runnier, but was tasty, if too salty. The odd service continued: three of the four of us had finished do the waiter cleared our plates including the one of our friend who hadn’t finished, who was left holding a cracker in her hand! The mains were again mixed and generally over salty. The ravioli were excellent; the steak good but in a sauce which was heavy handed on the seasoning, the fish pleasant, again slightly salty and verging on the overcooked. We had chocolate soufflé for pudding - generally well-made and tasty, but again the service was odd - an ice cream was pushed into it at the table by the waiter which caused a good amount of soufflé to fall inelegantly onto the serving plate; the cheese plate was an interesting but small selection of well-kept cheese. Good petit fours (though we were surprised that one containing nuts was offered to us all despite one of us not eating nuts, which we had mentioned). So probably four stars over all, but only just. It’s good to see the restaurant open again but based on this experience, while it’s fine dining, it’s got some way to go to reach the standard of cooking I’m sure they’d like to aspire to.

What a surprise! I booked this restaurant for my wife's birthday, for a Sunday lunch. Needless to say we had a fantastic time. The staff was welcoming and the location amazing (what a view the lake). We got seated and had great food and wine. We had trout and crab as starter and the roast beef for main; we finished with the gingerbread sandwich and an hazelnut polenta cake as dessert, all incredibly tasty. We had a coffee to finish, perfectly made for my Italian palate. They brought us a happy birthday pair of chocolates for my wife's birthday, with a candle: much appreciated. After lunch we went for a walk, beautiful scenery. I'll definitely plan some tee time up there. I would strongly recommend this restaurant for a celebration or just a great meal.

Really pretty place with the terrace right by the river. Food is very good, tasty and we'll presented with some interesting flavour combinations such as melon anise sorbet. The Head Chef came out to deliver the amuse bouche personally and spent time talking to us about produce which was a lovely touch. The only reason I have marked it down is the toilets are upstairs so it wasn't as accessible as it could be. However, the staff happily drove the golf buggy round to the front entrance where the loos are on the same level (the Terrace and Restaurant are a level down) and then it's a short distance to the toilets. They were also happy to drive the golf buggy to the car park to deliver less mobile guests such as my mother-in-law so service was also excellent.

Lovely weather so an outside table overlooking the lake with abundant geese and swans was already a great hors d'oeuvre. This was one of their Thursday lunches @ £39 plus drinks. This included free amuse-bouche followed by our three course selection. High quality food. Immaculate presentation. Charming waiters and staff. No time pressures. Totally relaxed lunch deep into the afternoon. Magnificent views. All very country and regal. Which is how we all felt. Thoroughly spoilt and replete. A rare and decadent location. Hidden away on the Brocket Estate in the most peaceful situation. Brilliant.

What a fabulous lunch here, the new chef has compiled a menu that is difficult to choose from. Whilst all 3 courses were of the quality we expected from Auberge (perfectly cooked scallops and cod) the dessert was a show stopper. The front of house staff are attentive and relaxed, add in the beautiful surroundings and it's a lunch not to be missed.

We we’re lucky enough to dine here during their soft opening. We had a delicious meal and could not fault it in any way. Scott was particularly attentive, he recommended an incredible Argentinian Malbec which paired with the lamb that we enjoyed on the night. We’ll look forward to returning soon.

Probably one of the best desserts I've had in a few years. Great ambience. Would recommend having a drink/coffee either before or after meal on the terrace over looking the lake.
