Well I was fed up buying steak pies from Tesco etc usually all pastry and gravy and U need to be Sherlock Holmes to find a bit of steak so today I went to the shop and seen the pies large was 10.00 and small 6.00 I decided to buy a large and small and a tub of the pie gravy so 17 quid lighter went home cooked them and what can I say it was by far the best I have ever tasted I usually say to my wife hers are the best but she could mess a bowl of coco pops up will be back next week would like u to do a cheaper parcel to try some stuff before buying a big 1 cheers well pleased
I don’t usually buy whole frozen chicken but bought a frozen corn fed poulet when I was in the shop a couple of weeks ago and we had it for dinner this evening ... WOW ... so so tasty. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever tasted chicken like this before. I would recommend everyone tries this and I’ll definitely be making sure I always have one in my freezer in future ... 10/10 ... well done ... fabulous product x
Absolutely love the food and the staff.Sometimes there’s a bit of a queue and you have to wait but that’s clearly a sign of how popular the shop and its produce is .The staff are very polite and as for the black bomber cheese it’s amazing .Keep up the sterling effort folks ������.
I've been to the cafe and butchers on a few occasions and never disappointed the full breakfast in cafe is the best I've ever had in my 51 years on this good planet I'm not kidding you so good and loads mmm I'll be back as arney says lol
Step into this amazing butchers and buy your fresh food & veg, then take a couple of steps to the deli where you will find beautiful tasty fresh cheese, meat, wines and anything else you can think of to eat and drink. Last but not least take another couple of steps to the cafe where all the lovely things you have purchased are there prepared for you ready to eat. An amazing shop for anyone who appreciate fresh produce, fine wines & a lovely coffee to relax and chill with. Tx

Never disappoints- top quality produce always - fantastic steak pies (better than I make myself) - fabulous oven ready meal selection. Service also first class - if you haven't tried McCaskies you are seriously missing out..!!
We are new to the area and popped in on the way by. Beef olives were very nice indeed and lamb shank was tender and tasty. Service was good and the lady was very helpful with our many questions! However, best thing ever has been the Haggis Dog Food which our fussy 16 year old Lancashire healer scoffed with no hesitation!! We’ll be back.

We used mccaskies to provide the catering for my daughter's 21st birthday party. They did a fantastic job and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Just had the haggis we bought while on holiday nearby-I can honestly say it was the best haggis I have had in my whole life, and iv been eating haggis for 40+ years!!!! I will definitely be driving back for more!!

Stopped there late lunchtime yesterday (Tues 24th Oct) with my wife and two boys. The chap with the glasses opened the door to greet us as we approached, instantly from his warm welcome I knew we had made the right choice. He continually interacted with us, and my 4 year old son really clicked with him. The food was great, the atmosphere was warm and friendly but the attention to detail and the attentiveness from the member of staff we met was exceptional and the high levels of service made this a memorable part of our holiday. Would just like to say thank you to him for his friendly welcome and excellent service. We loved our visit. Food was great too!

Great little breakfast place, right near train station and ferry port- great for people staying at the campsite!
Attached to butchers / farm shop and so food was fresh and tasty! Seating area was bright and open, with nice decor and lovely staff.
Veggie breakfast has Veggie haggis which was a first for me- but well worth a try.
Only downside was that another Veggie breakfast came with bacon by accident. Simple mistake, but something to keep an eye on!
Great place to stop for a coffee and cake or a meal before getting on the ferry opposite or after getting off the ferry.
We stopped for coffee, deluxe hot chocolate and cakes which were very tasty but lots of other guests had a meal, which also looked very nice.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Small free car park next to the Cafe or a pay and display along the road.
After our snack we had a look around the old station right opposite the Cafe.
What a find! Delicious food and kind service. Recommend to all!

As always really enjoyed our visit to the cafe at McCaskies. Friendly welcome by staff and the young man who served our table was courteous and personable. Watching him greet and interact with other customers who arrived you could tell he knew his stuff(even giving one customer ferry information, impressive)and his people skills were faultless. The food was lovely as expected and we left with full bellys and a smile on our faces. Well done.
Very accommodating to my gluten intolerance. Was able to swap breakfast items to make it ok. Very tasty 🙂
Excellent service and amazing quality of meat from the butchery counter. Cafe food is always the best of gear the servers are very personable and we enjoy our monthly visit.
Well what can I say pass McCaskies every week going to caravan ,my husband noticed the award they have won si I gave it a try 3 weeks ago and love all of the produce best butchers I have went to just placed another order and will pick it up next week myself and my husband just love it and also last week I hot the Macaroni best one I have tasted thanks again it's great to get a decent butcher see you all on 27th July when I come for my order thanks

They do a great breakfast here. Proper butchers sausages and thick cut bacon, none of the photocopy stuff. Full on hearty breakfast at a decent price. Highly recommended.
