One of my colleagues recommends George’s to us and she said it is one of the best local fish and chip shops in Nottingham... ✨ 🐠We ordered 1 large and 1 small ocean wild cod 🐠 and we got to choose between beans, peas or gravy ...!! ⭐️ The fish was still hot and crispy🔥 when we arrived home !! Excellent taste of the cod,, and the chips was not oily.. Onion Gravy was smooth and not too thick!! Overall...⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was so full and enjoyed my meal very much 😋 Recommend this shop if you visit West Bridgford...!!

Ordered takeaway here tonight. It’s probably the best battered sausage and chips I’ve had. definitely will be returning for another take out! Two pea fritters for just under £3. Giant and worth the money!!

We're staying nearby & order every week at the moment. We order online & are given a time to collect & have never had to wait. My only gripe is that we've both had the pies a number of times & as we're eating, the pastry gets harder and harder so that your cutlery literally just won't cut it, even with tons of gravy on! That's why I've only given 4 stars for food. Having said that, this still won't stop me from ordering a pie again. Great service & always busy, which is a good sign

I had the large haddock meal that was freshly cooked. It was a plentiful portion and was excellent. The service was very good. Not sure how you rate atmosphere in a chip shop. It was 20 minutes walk from the world famous City Ground and was well worth it. I will definately go again. COYR

When I first moved to Nottingham from the coast, I was skeptical about getting fish and chips here... but these are great!

Excellent food again. Cod on the expensive side but that's the world now. Had cod, chips and peas x 2 but to their credit I struggled to finish mine. Might be worth doing a meal for two deal?

Good portions of chips, decently cooked fish. Meal deals to help bring cost down. I personally travel a near 15 mile round trip because I rate this chip shop higher than others. Can do click and collect too Downsides, you pay slightly more (not extortionate), for the quality. And I've never seen it not busy.

Husband just bought some fish and chips for us and sausage and chips for our son. We have a fussy 5 year old but he's eaten good portion of his meal. Apparently chips were small portion but I was surprised how much there was in the box, so generous amount for a small portion. Delicious meal, definitely worth the drive as we live in cotgrave. Will be ordering again for sure.

Great fish and chip shop. Quick service and tasty food. Portion size is decent to large (for me at least) and mushy peas seem to come as standard with the meals which I think is great. Also have the ability to preorder which is very helpful at the moment

The best Fish and Chips We have been to quite a few fish and chips places and this is definitely your favourite. The fish never tastes overly fried or greasy and the chips are always fluffy and delicious (not soggy and limp). They are certainly popular so be prepared to que but it's worth it!

Overrated. Greasy and far far too many little crunchy ends. Rectory road chippy so much better. Edit 12.9.22 I've been having chips from here for last 2 months. Greatly improved and actually prefer them to the chippie around the corner now. There is an ongoing issue with size portions - depends who you get as to what is a small, medium and large will be and tonight the size were discussing how much to put in. Medium and large always very similar if not the same size.

Now I know why it's always busy... best fish and chips I've had for years. Prices are a little higher than average, but I don't mind paying extra for quality. Portion sizes are generous - a small box is enough for me.

I liked this chip shop with tasty food and fish but I got to say, it is very expensive. A meal for a family of four would make me think twice of visiting. The chip shop was one of the fairest places to eat back in the days but now the British staple has come in to the league of restaurants in terms of pricing.

Amazing fish and chips, as always and with meals that don't break the bank. Especially in this era they might well be the best value around not just one of best quality.

Small portion of chips. Taste is very good and fish cooked well still being moist. Batter seems a bit sweet for me but all in not bad. Shame about portion size. Updated to say had fish and chips today. Chip portion has improved but chips were not fresh and fish was terrible. Update aug 21. Very nice chips and fish since last time.
