Excellent pub with great atmosphere and superb staff.
We came with 5 rescue dogs and were made to feel very welcome by staff and other customers alike.
We all ate, very reasonably priced and served up very quick.
I would certainly return and recommend.
Highly recommend a visit. Visited this afternoon. Lovely young welshman serving behind the bar, he was very welcoming and the food was amazing!also perks of a lovely outside play area for children. X
We visited the Cricketers for the first time yesterday couldn't fault anything lovely cooked meal with a good sized dish of fresh vegetables, service at the bar and by waiting staff was excellent we have already booked a table to return
We had the burgers. And wow would recommend to everyone. Coming back with the kids
The sweet potato bhajis are to die for...... great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Well what a gorgeous little hidden gem. Came here to watch the jungle book for the sundown cinema but will be most defiantly be coming back with the family. Gorgeous little venue and the food looks and smells delicious.
Had such a wonderful time visiting the beautiful Cricketers Pub last week! Been in a few times and had the biggest fish and chips I've ever seen and a great Sunday roast with unlimited sides, everything was absolutely delicious. The service was the best I've had during my time in England, absolutely wonderful! Keep up the good work Nicky & crew! :)
Went yesterday (Thursday). Sat in the car park eagerly awaiting opening time. First customers of the day. Exceptional food, setting and service. A young energy to the place smattered with a genuine regard for the customer's experience. Loved it. Oh yeah, I agree with the review below, the music was great.
Superb pizzas probably the best I've ever had.
Staff friendly and efficient and not expensive like some gastro pubs.
And the pizza oven is in the shape of a giant cricket ball.
Loads of cricket memorabilia which looks great.

WE ALWAYS GIVE 5s AS ALL PUBS ARE DIFFERENT AND GREAT
CONTEXT
There is a partner and daughter and dog for a late lunch on a weekday.
ATMOSPHERE
Friday PM was really chilled and nice, roaring fire, great autumn afternoon
SERVICE
Superb, very kind, patient, and welcoming.
STYLE
Front is classic pub, back is like mini wedding venue. They have pub at front, which is great, very cricket themed (no surprises), then what looks to be new barn space at the back, which is very airy and bright.
Also outdoor and kids play area.
TOILET
It's very sleek and clean, and it is a nice addition to the new elements i imagine from the old pub parts.
PRICE
Not bad at all, food very reasonably price, cant remember ilexact sums.
FOOD & DRINK
SUPERB non-alcoholic range. I was driving and was very excited to see 5 different non alco beers, as well as cider!
Alcoholic selection was great. Partner had a lovely malbec.
Food was incredible. However, we had to order a new dish as the pasta ragu had had 0 taste. I'm not sure if a vital ingredient was missed in the sauce or what.
But they were very accommodating and the other dishes were lovely.
Went here for a car meet. While the meeting was fantastic, we'll catered and spacious, from what I saw of the Cricketers seemed pleasant. The people dining and for the meeting were polite and friendly. The staff were extremely friendly and informative. The place seemed clean and actually well respected, like there wasn't any debris or rubbish anywhere. You have to respect a place others care for. However.. the drinks were so overpriced. For 2X pints was over £13, which is extortionate. While I'm happy to go here for some food after I've heard nothing but good things about the place, the price of a drink has made me think twice before going. Maybe I'll be back for another event, maybe a meal, but I'm in no rush for those prices.
The food here is absolutely amazing. One of the best places I’ve been to in Hertfordshire. The service was faultless too.
The only reason I am not giving it 5* is because it’s a little bit pricey. But the food is sublime.
Manager/owner of this this establishment and his team are absolutely smashing it here, we’ll done. 🎉 Hands on manager who treats his staff with kindness & respect, definitely not worried about rolling up his sleeves and pitching in, serving customers behind the bar and delivering their food, all the staff friendly, courageous and extremely helpful and the food amazing. Thank you for such a warm welcome, an amazing meal in a lovely relaxed atmosphere, will definitely be returning real soon.
Lovely pizza, serving staff were friendly efficient and great with the kids. The Pavilion is light and airy, great outdoor space, good for the summer, the kids could enjoy the play equipment whilst I relaxed in the garden. Ample parking.
Really nice place to eat and drink! Food is well priced for the amount of food you get and the quality of it. Lovely setting with really nice staff!
Really nice pub ,very friendly and efficient staff ,food was great, have to deduct one star for the miserly portion of pasta in the child’s meal at £6.50 would have expected a standard bowl but was more like a teacup our 10 year old was disappointed and hungry.
Lovely local pub lots of indoor and outdoor space has a great pub/restaurant feel to the place depending on what you are visiting for can cater for all. Highly recommended visiting.
Great food, very fast service, a beautiful location, plus a climbing flame for the kids with a slide.
Great setting and a really great 'nice' family restaurant where you can take the children, feel comfortable and still get good food. Not the best pizza you'll ever eat but fair from the worst.
Good for family meals. Wood fire pizzas and speciality burgers at lunch time. Good atmosphere and service. Service a little slow but everything cooked to order. Personally I would appreciate a little more variety on the menu.
Probably the best place within the area. Food is touch pricy but the atmosphere and set up makes up for it. Friendly staff too. Plenty parking.
Second time that I've been here & it didn't dissapoint it's got a really nice decor and feel the food area is in a regenerated barn located behind the pub itself but it's all connected so it doesnt feel too like you are eating in the middle of the pub with all the locals its got a cricket theme running throughout which is cool (loved the coat hooks on an old cricket bat) and an open kitchin with a huge stone pizza oven. I can imagine in the summer it would be lovely as the barn has double doors all down one side which open onto a field with further outdoor seating.
The young girl who served us was polite and eager to oblige all our requests and we had quite a few (being a party of 9) but she accommodated them all. The food was superb and real value for money to start o shared a pulled pork flat bread from the specials which was a decent sized portion even between two of us it tasted fantastic for main the pizza I had (the Googley)tasted delicious freshly baked in the pizza oven. Everyone elses food also looked really good a couple that stood out for me was the tempura prawns and the chorizo and pork sausage roll both looked amazing. The starters are offered like a tapas style(but not Spanish dishes) buy a few plates and share which I really like the idea of.
If I had to be picky the only thing was that when we arrived skylight windows were open and one of the doors to the side of the pub which was creating a draft through our table but we ask for tithe skylights to be shut and they stoped what they were doing and doneit imedialtly. Highlight even more how good the service was.
Overall a fantastic visit really look forward to going back over the summer.
