Shalims Balti House Indian Restaurant

I had an amazing dining experience at this exceptional Indian restaurant! The service was outstanding, and they took great care of us. The food was incredibly delicious, clearly prepared with love. Highly recommended if you're in the area. The restaurant boasts a luxurious and modern ambiance, and they offer takeout options.

Gorgeous restaurant, perfect atmosphere, lovely staff and very attentive. We had a lovely chambliss, garlic chilli chicken (not too spicy but has a nice kick) and akbori chicken mosala (again nice kick but not too spicy) all delicious. portion sizes aren’t huge but perfect to eat everything you order; especially if you’re planning on sharing a few dishes amongst the table. The Roti bread was delicious as was the naan. All in all a very enjoyable evening and should we visit Weymouth again we will surely dine here.

Nice decor, food was very good. A strange start to our visit though. When we entered there were some people at the front desk (bar) paying their bill. ( It seems this is what you do when you are finished. Not ask for the bill and pay at the table). Staff were interested in taking the money, then went back to clearing and resetting tables. I couldn't get the man's attention we were ignored. Eventually the lady at the bar said someone would be with us shortly. As she said that, a waiter came and took us to our table. We were very close to giving up and leaving.

We came here whilst on holiday and overall I’ve got to say we were pleased. We ordered 3 x chicken tikka madras with boiled rice, poppadoms, plain naan bread, onion salad and onion bhajis. As we collected we saved 10% off the total bill. If I remember right, it was around £50-£60. I liked the sweetness of the Madras here, which then led to the warmth of the spice. The chicken pieces are fairly small, but you got a few of them. The naan was quite small, but I get these are made to order and they don’t all come out of the clay over the same shape or size. Poppadoms were fresh and had the right amount of crunch to them. The picture was taken after I’d started eating. The restaurant which we collected from was fairly busy with customers eating in…we collected not long after opening time…I always judge an Indian by this as it shows it’s popular. I’d go back and eat here again.

First time visiting, heard a lot of good things about this place and I can happily say, expectations were certainly met, from working in the hospitality industry myself I was amazed on the service! The quality of food was excellent and atmosphere was great, really enjoyed my visit Will definitely be returning and a massive thank you to the staff who made my first visit great😊
