The most delicious Sunday carvery. Lunchtime and evening service. Amazing friendly staff. Best to book. We are lucky enough to live quite near and have returned a number of times. Puddings are exceptional and homemade. We are yet to try the loaded fries which a friend has recommended. A great destin
The owners of this establishment are quite simply lovely. There were exceptional circumstances that meant we couldn’t get an evening meal after a long day hiking. After being collected at the end of our walk we were given the keys and a taxi was ordered so we could get to another local pub. The room
We came across this pub because we were staying just across the road (!) and had a chance to opt for their Sunday carvery. Eric and his staff (Alan on the carvery was great) gave excellent service- friendly and very attentive. The beef was tender, the pork and Turkey delicious along with a good spre
Family owned pub, personal service and always welcoming. We come back every year for a meal and it's always the same. Village centre location, nice food, quality/price correct. Thank you Landlord.
Visited completely by chance after our coach broke down. I can't praise the staff enough. Despite having 45 people arrive unannounced they just rolled up thier sleeves and got on with the job. They were excellent 👍. And by the way it's a lovely little pub 🍻.
Has a very large car park handy if you have a big vehicle, booked a single but given a double room that was nice , the bed was comfortable, bathroom looked like it had been refurbished not long ago. Television was a little small, the area was very quiet very little noise from the road .
Always stop at Wheddon Cross for a driving break and fuel. A good natured crowd of young and old were seated outside, and we discovered the community, carbon trust electric car points - free to use please have refreshments while you wait. There's also good walking around and a regular petrol station
This pub certainly lived up to it's name when we dropped in last Sunday absolutely soaking wet and cold from 12 miles backpacking on the Moor in torrential rain. Food and drink was fair and very welcome.
I loved my stay at this inn. The Carvery on Sunday dinner was top notch food. Very Tasty and Delicious. The sticky Toffee pudding with clotted cream was the best I have ever had! My single room was cozy and warm. The shower was nice and hot. I didn't have to wait 10 minutes for the water to get hot
Fantastic place to have Sunday lunch, brilliant carvery with a great range of veg. Service was very efficient. Definitely worth a visit. 👍
Stopped on the way from Tarr steps. The village is lovely and the pub has ev charging points. We all chose the tasty burger with bacon, cheese and chilli jam. It came with a salad garnish and chips. Absolutely delicious.
Delicious carvery, lots of different veg. Friendly Staff....very efficient, especially impressed as they had so many covers.
Great food and service, the bill was ,around £36 for 2 main meals with drinks, very accommodating dispite having 2 private functions that evening 😊
We have been many times for a meal, and it has always been very good. Nice menu selection for most tastes and reasonable prices.
If you want to be treated as a welcome guest look no further! Nothing was too much trouble, we had the pleasure of being greeted by Caroline and then spending the rest of the weekend with Eric( Molly also made a couple of welcome appearances) we met 3 generations of this hospitality family and were
Lovely food good service always allows our dog in we will see you next year
Three of us had a Sunday carvery, it was the best carvery we have had in many a year. The beef and pork were cooked to perfection. Then there was the veg; gorgeous roast potatoes, pimped parsnips, roasted squash, mashed swede, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli cheese, all of which were outs
