Walked past one evening and this place looked so inviting we decided to book for tapas to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had a fabulous evening, the food was excellent and the service perfect. We was given suggestions for drinks, the gin with pomegranate and basil tonic was to die for, and the young man serving us explained each dish and made personal recommendations which were spot on. With only living a staggering distance away, this little gem will certainly become a regular haunt x

A lovely old tea shop. A refreshing change from the fish and chip/burger places. Had a lovely mocha. Pleasant staff and atmosphere.

Stopped in for a drink and enjoyed the wartime decor and PMJ soundtrack whilst sipping a gin so much we returned in the morning to sample the breakfast menu. The Blitz Breakfast is hearty, delicious and excellent value for money. A little gem of a place. Will definitely be back.

Such a lovely friendly cafe and really quirky inside. The cakes are to die for. We had a cherry and coconut cake, a lemon and lime drizzle and a Victoria sponge. All three were beautiful. The tea and coffee was gorgeous too. We needed to change our baby but they didn’t have baby change, they let us go upstairs no problem. Really lovely find in Whitby

Ate at The Blitz on 30 December, had seen the coffee shop/tapas bar on previous visits to Whitby. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but the food was great, the service from the staff was excellent too. Will be definitely going again the next time we visit, which is February.

We hadn't booked but they'd had a cancellation so we're in luck. The steaks we had were beautiful. The crevettes were amazing, though a finger bowl wouldn't have gone unappreciated. Drinks were fairly priced as was the food. Probably recommend booking as it was very busy even on a Tuesday evening. The staff were very friendly and had time to check on their guests even though it was busy.

Lovely relaxing restaurant with a wartime theme. There is a mixture of tapas and more traditional food. The food is of a good standard with attentive staff. A big well done, and will certainly visit again.

Lovely restaurant with a good blend of modern and war themed decor. Tapas was excellent although beware the plates are a good size so dont get too carried away as you can keep reordering. Well done to the staff, friendly and prompt service. Keep it up.

Absolutely beautiful cafe/ restaurant. We popped in fir desert after a disappointing birthday meal at another venue. Staff were lovely and put our candles and sparklers on my daughters desert. The puddings were absolutely delicious, not box bought - home made and gorgeous. Lovely atmosphere and customer service was amazing. We will come back without the kids and sample the cocktail menu next time.

Not quite sure how tapas, Spain, cocktails, historic Whitby and the London blitz have in common!? But hey! The food was pretty damn good! Had a rip roaring family meal and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! (Oh and no deserts on the menu!?) I just really don't understand the concept... But maybe you're not supposed to!

Food is amazing and the staff even better. They were extremely busy but, still managed to serve everyone quickly and politely - nothing was too much trouble. Can 100% recommend the sharing platter!

A great little restaurant with a welcome rest after a day walking around the lovely town of Whitby. Fantastic cup of tea in a proper china teapot & tea cup , loose tea leaves so you get a little sieve to put it through. Food was very nice & tasty and high chairs available for young ones as we had our grandson they also had somewhere to leave his pushchair. Very welcoming staff & a great little cosy atmosphere.

100% the best eatery we've tried in Whitby. The food was expertly prepared and presented. The service was warm and attentive. COVID 19 precautions were well executed and taken seriously. If you only dine in one place in Whitby... Make it here!

A cool fusion of traditional and modern (see photos of breakfasts) with sandbags, bunting, old tea cups, and an underground bunker (with toilets in). Wife had camp coffee and I had a good americano. Great breakfasts! Mine was a more traditional full English but my wife’s breakfast scone was modern and fun. Son was desperate to come back for lunch for a chip cob. And for dinner for halloumi fries in the evening tapas menu. We would if we had more time ^_^

Came for Breakfast and arrived a shade after 11.00 (when they stop serving) but asked anyway. Chef thankfully said it was no problem. Four of us had the Full English (one a Vegan version) the others had a Cajun Chicken wrap and a Tuna Mayo sandwich. We were all really happy with our choices. Service was quick and staff friendly, quirky and interesting 40's themed decor. Good all round value and certainly worth a visit.

Great place. Very frequent visitors to Whitby and always have breakfast at The Blitz. However on our most recent stay (26th September) it wasn't quite up to the standard we have come to expect. I'm not sure if there has been a change in ownership or if they have started to get their produce from a different supplier, but it wasn't to the standard we had come to expect from The Blitz. Still nice enough though.

We loved the coffee here (Italian style espresso) and the music and decor. However, they don't open until 10 am and closed early on Monday when we had olanned to go for cocktails.

Lovely setting and very good food indeed. I love the decorations especially the bomb shelter toilets. .. Well its been just short of a year since our last visit and i am pleased to say that the food and service certainly have not been affected by the lockdown. Lovely tapas dishes ( 6 dishes plus a side of chips is plenty for an average hungry couple). The Sangria is a very nice accompaniment to the tapas menu. Wellworth a visit if you are in town.

This was a last minute decision and we were lucky to get a table, so recommend booking. During the day The Blitz is a cafe, but by night it turns into an intimate Tapas Restaurant. I would highly recommend that you go here next time you are in Whitby at night. The tapas are delicious and quite unusual, the portion sizes are generous but not over filling. And the wine, at the price it was a bargain and was exceptionally good when compared to many of the more expensive places in Whitby. The staff are all young [or it could just be a sign that I am getting old!!], attentive, but not overly so and helpful. Highly recommended.

This is a brand new bar, the owner has had the premises less than a month. We stuck our heads in as he was closing early because people were walking past because they still think it's a restaurant. Good on him that he served us a couple of beers just as he was literally closing the doors for the night. This place has a lot of promise if the lad whose running it's ambition has anything to go by 👍🏻
