Amazing value for money. I had Seabass and chips, my son had two sausages local butchers Redfords, chips and peas. Free scraps and a pot of tea. Under £20. Service was spot on, highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Forget about going into Whitby for overpriced fish and chips. Stop here on your way. The very best you'll taste. Always excellent.

I've passed by Eskdale fisheries many times on my way from York to Whitby but never called in until now. I've been missing out.
I ordered large Haddock, chips, mushy peas and a breadcake with a pot of Yorkshire tea for one. The tea arrived quickly along with a tray of condiments, shortly followed by the fish and chips which had been cooked to order, served by a friendly young waitress. The fish and chips looked quality, the peas were served in a large pot and were piping hot. The haddock which is cooked in beef dripping was beautiful, big fresh tender flakes encased in a light golden crunchy (but not hard) very tasty batter. It was mouth wateringly good, delicious. The chips were excellent, nicely brown and crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The pot of peas was a very generous portion and they too were excellent.
Everything about the meal was perfect, the best fish and chips I've had for years. The café was spotless too.

Had Scampi, Cod, chicken half and nuggets. All with chips. Served by a lovely lady. Restaurant was full but we had takeaway. Great food! The chips were particularly good and much better tasting than our local chippy. Highly recommend giving them a visit!

Upon the glowing recommendation from our gracious host, we ventured to this delightful establishment, where we were warmly welcomed by a charming lady who graciously served our orders. I had taken the liberty to pre-order the seafood platter, and what a culinary masterpiece it was! The platter featured tantalizing delights like impeccably dressed crab, succulent smoked salmon, and delectable prawns, all served alongside a refreshing side salad and coleslaw. Each bite was a divine journey, and the crab, in particular, was an exquisite delight that epitomized the essence of the region.
The prawns were a symphony of flavors, and the smoked salmon left my taste buds dancing with joy. The entire experience was made even sweeter by the exceptional value for money, leaving us thoroughly impressed and eager to return for more gastronomic adventures.
Meanwhile, my partner indulged in the heavenly cod and chips, and his culinary experience was equally astounding. He was effusive in his praise, declaring the fish to be one of the finest he had ever tasted, while the chips were nothing short of perfection.
In all honesty, this dining experience transcended our expectations and left us in awe of the delectable offerings, the remarkable service, and the inviting ambiance. Came in late one night as we were hungry while staying in Ruswarp. Perfect scampi and haddock, chips, and the service was perfect. I'd definitely recommend!
They always lightly batter the fish , the chips are good too, we always go in there when we are in sneaton. (Whitby). The staff are great too and their prices are really good. Lots of people call for a takeaway while we are there .. love their fish and chips, plus mushy peas.😀
Great fish and chips and cheaper than Whitby less than 10 mins away. If you're wanting a crab and go through Sleights, check here on your way. They are much better value. Always cooked to order so be prepared to wait a few minutes but usually someone to chat to
An excellent fish n chips curry sauce piping hot and well wrapped. Gr8 service will use again. Only disappointing part was the look of the service/ entrance hatch resembles a San Francisco homeless soup kitchen. Wants taking down with two big hammers.
