This is such a historical building and part of the fabric of Whitby in the days of yore, supporting seafarers and their families.
Today its a community centre with a fantastic cafe. We were pleased to support this place by having our lunch there, which was very reasonably priced and tasty. The hosts were helpful and chatty....
It doesn't always have to be a modern cafe....

A decent place to eat reasonable food at a reasonable price. Not gourmet but you’re not paying gourmet price. Friendly service from unpaid, I think, staff/ volunteers. It’s good enough to draw us back each visit to Whitby and isn’t choked by grockles.

Myself and my work colleague visited The Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre for Breakfast and it was absolutely delicious.
Lovely cooked food and quick service.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and were very knowledgeable about the local area and we left with full stomachs and smiles on our faces. Nick and Robert

Popped in for coffee and scones while on holiday, excellent value for money, scones were lovely. If we had been in Whitby longer we would have tried their lunch menu which was very tempting. Staff were friendly too. Will visit again when in Whitby.

2 words, beer festival. What a great weekend we have had here. We have been going to Whitby for years and seem to have missed the beer festival until last year. So we made sure not to miss it this year. Great beers and ciders and well organised by the Lions. The people were brilliant and met some people from last year. This is going to be an annual jolly up from now on. See you next year. 😊😊
