This is by far the best Indian restaurant in the North East. The staff are fabulous and cannot do enough for you and the food is amazing. I highly recommend this place and cannot wait to revisit. It’s an absolute must....
We won a recent competition and to say we were treat like royalty is an understatement. The staff were amazing I have never felt so welcome in a restaurant and I have never tasted food as tasty as this. I cannot recommend this enough and we are already planning our next trip. What a way to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary xx
Visited on Valentines night so was expecting to be chaos and long waits . The place was packed and a queue when we arrived.BUT within a couple of minutes we had a drink and were shown to our table . Food was absolutely delicious, staff were attentive and friendly. Couldn’t fault the place ! We definitely will be back
Visited tonight for friends birthday, staff are so helpful and friendly!! Told them it was my friends birthday and they give us a free dessert with a sparkler. Food was amazing, too much but I’d rather have too much than too little! Stuffed to the brim and would deffo return and recommend!! �
Went last night for a meal and Azad was able to squeeze us in last minute! Staff were very attentive, food was delicious and very generous portion sizes and decent prices compared to some restaurants ! Definitely going to be our regular indians from now on!
Had my birthday family meal here. Staff were fantastic, food was out of this world and had the best table in the house. Couldn't ask for more! My 3rd time here and food gets better every time. Thanks for a great night.

Visited for the first time on Valentine’s night, so I was expecting it to be busy! We were shown to our table straight away and the service was excellent! Staff were really friendly and polite. And the food was outstanding! Delicious!
It did get quite busy, but we were not forgotten about at all, the staff cleared the table straight away once we were finished a course and they always checked if everything was alright😊 didn’t feel rushed to finish either or pushed out once were were all finished which is good as it was so busy and I expected them to be needing a free table. They were very attentive and it was a lovely atmosphere for Valentine’s Day. The table was set beautifully, I got a free rose and me and my partner each got a free shot of liquor also which was lovely 😊 to add to that a heart shaped box and chocolates with the bill was also lovely! Will definitely be visiting again Thankyou for a lovely meal and experience on valentine day, turned out to be incredibly romantic for us 😊
I've been to so many Indian restaurants before but honestly Shikara was the best so far. The Food is full of flavour and colour. Just delicious!! The service was amazing. I never got so good advice in a restaraunt on the food. Thank you for making our visit so good.
Went for the first time yesterday for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. Amazing food, friendly staff and the first class treatment for all. We will definitely be going back with others to spread the word. The chef has been nominated for an award to be announced 22nd October so wish him all the best x

The Shikara always gives you a warm welcome, great service, lovely place and absoulety amazing food. Me and my sister stumbled upon this lovely place even before it was the Shikara in a unit two doors down. I was 16 at the time now 34! Had all the family going since Azad and the team are brilliant! Well worth a visit

Excellent restaurant. Never been here before. Food was excellent. The special fried rice was spot on. Despite a quiet mid week evening the staff were attentive and made polite conversation which is often missed. Would go back. High praise ! 🥘🍛👌🏼
We booked a table here for 10 people at short notice. The staff could not have been more accommodating. An extensive menu and we were giving plenty time to choose, not pushed like other restaurants. When the food arrived everyone on our table were well satisfied. Everyone has expressed their pleasure at the food and service. Exceptional food. Service second to none. Thank you very much. *****
