Delicious Sunday roast with generous helping of meat ( 4 good slices). Service was a bit slow but the meal made up for it. Friendly atmosphere with live music. Also very reasonably priced.
We had a spontaneous visit to this lovely quirky pub on a Sunday. I rang to see if I needed to book and got in 20 minutes later. It was myself, my husband and my little dog. (Dogs are very much welcome)
The place itself is a bit different! But in a good way. Very oldy woldy with charm. Cosy but spr
What a great pub. All that a 'local' should be; the regular customers mixing easily and in a friendly manner with visitors. A great range of drinks, cheerful, friendly service, competitive pricing, an historic building maintained well without destroying the 'old' atmosphere. A great 'secret' courtya
With plenty of parking directly outside, there is ample opportunity to enjoy a pie and a pint at this large pub. Catering for visitors and locals this pub shares the trade with another just up the road. Both vie for trade with friendliness and warmth. Good competition and different vibes in both.
Me my husband and friends visited this lovely little pub at Wickham yesterday Friday 28th January 2022, our friends booked it, we arrived and taken upstairs to our table, our friends were joining us.
The atmosphere was lovely and homely, we had a little button that you use to call for service, we or
Updated August 2023. Sunday roast. Five people. And oh my. Huge plates of food, great tasting meat veg and yorkies. Great banter, kind people, good music, fun atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Originally...No-one does food on Mondays it seems except for a few places. So Serendipity took my wife and I
Popped in for a drink with family,
It was quiet in the bar area but didn't dull the spirits of the Waiter and Waitress behind the bar. Lovely service!!
Food smelled amazing and unfortunately we left it too late to try but will definitely be back!
Popped in for a late breakfast yesterday and do glad we did. Lovely little pub/establishment, very charming and food was lovely.
Will definitely be returning, what a little gem.
Lovely friendly staff, nice food, tho we were a group of 10 so couldn't choose specials on the day (Sunday) (n sadly I don't do roast dinners) but the food was still excellent!
Had broccoli nd Stilton soup as a starter it was one of the best I’ve had. You could tell it was freshly made. Steak I had was done just how I like it. The staff were friendly nd polite.
I will definitely return if I’m down this way again
The staff are fantastic here. The food and drinks are similarly great.
Lovely wee stop off for coffee and a Danish pastry 😋 I didn't have my dogs with me but dogs are welcome which is always nice.
We were probably the annoying type of customers ordering hot chocolate to takeaway on a Saturday night in a pub… also asking for vegan milks and asking for extra hot as we had a long drive. And changing orders etc etc. However the staff member- sorry we didn’t catch his name- but he was maybe the ma
Quiet, on a midweek lunchtime. Well kept beer and cider, good food. We had fish and chips, a big portion of both, chilli cheeseburger and a homemade beef burger. Desserts of lemon cheesecake and ameretti fool also very nice. Dog friendly throughout.
Beautiful local pub, staff were lovely and great food. Lovely experience.
Had a full English breakfast here at 9am Friday morning . It was lush good quality plenty of it and piping hot well worth a visit. Plenty parking outside 50p per hour
Enjoyed eating here and it wasn't overpriced. The decor is different and the two mannequins sat at a table upstairs are a talking point. Very good.
Very attentive staff, reasonably priced drinks and a great atmosphere. Hope it doesn't change too much in the future.
Wonderful decor of a restaurant overlooking the very pretty square of Wickham. A great menu with a choice for everyone.
Lovely friendly staff, quirky building but the food is absolutely awesome.
