Went past it as didn't look open, but glad we went back, got a lovely warm welcome and served with drinks straight away, I had a club sandwich which was absolutely mint,my partner had a different sandwich which was just as impressive, well worth a visit

Had our tea there last week, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Plenty of choices of pub classics, tasty and well presented.

Heard good things from a few friends about the rugby’s arms and decided to try it out as it was only around the corner. The food has improved astronomically, defiantly worth the trip out and will absolutely be making it my local

Such a friendly and beautiful place to park for a minute after walking up the hill too far from Parbold! Looking forward to eating there now that they have re-launched food service.

Delicious dinner. Traditional menu. Three of us got the steak pie and two had salmon. Real chips. Can’t wait to go back.

Great place. Friendly staff decent amount of parking. Good selection of drinks. Big selection of starters which is rare, massive selection of mains including a game menu which is great for a country pub/restaurant. Definitely not a pub that does a bit of food. Great service and food vwas very decent and was quick to arrive Prices are reasonable not cheap but not overly expensive so just about right. Went for a friend's reunion and they were happy for us to be seated for 30 mins plus and after our food which was nice. Took a booking although it wasn't packed when we went.
Overall would definitely recommend a quintessential Lancashire country Inn and eatery.

Great starter main was good but the mushroom risotto was too thick. nice place still would recommend thanks

Visited here on the evening of Friday 11 August for a lovely meal with someone special. After visiting here only recently for a couple of drinks, we decided to give the food a try.
After the usual deliberation and following a delicious 'nibble' of cheesey breadcrumbed dips as a sort of starter, I went for a pan fried steak dish with Dijon sauce, chips and vegetables for my main course. I wasn't used to eating steak like this as I'm used to one 'off the grill' so to speak, but it was still nice and not a piece of fat on the whole lot! Everything else accompanied the meal nicely.
For dessert I went for the Belgian Waffle with ice cream, butterscotch sauce and some little blueberries (as decoration partly but we ate those too). This was delicious! The waffle was just the right texture also.
The only slight issue I have with this place is that it seems to cater to the older diner (so to speak). Whether or not it's like this a lot I wouldn't know but we were surrounded by quite a few, erm ... geriatrics. Not a criticism, just an observation and something I wasn't expecting. Also, is it value for money? I'm not sure. Maybe there could've been more chips but still this is a minor gripe.
So there we have it, a quality meal with wonderful company in a lovely little country pub/restaurant, with idyllic surroundings. I recommend this place.
P.S. the toilets are up to scratch also.

Good food with a full menu, makes a change from all the limited menus around at present. Been coming here for years - never been disappointed

Has only just reopened after closing during the pandemic.
Great selection of real ales, black sheep ,Timothy Taylors and Wainwright's. Great for walkers and is dog friendly with a real fire opposite the bar. Not serving food yet as only just reopened , but will as soon as they can.

Thank you to all the staff at the Rigbye for making my 40th birthday meal perfect. Everyone complemented the food and loved the private dining room upstairs. You accommodated my every need and I am truly thankful! Already planning to come back to celebrate another family birthday at the end of the month!
Can't recommend The Rigbye Arms enough, many of my guests had never been before, but have all said they'll be dining with you in the future.

We went for our tea last night after a family day out at the royal Cheshire show, myself, the husband and our 7 year old son, we had the pate, and black pudding to start, then both had the Sirloin steak cooked meadium rare, and an extra of onion rings also some Diane sauce and garlic sauce, our son had the children's fish and chips, we ate everything it was amazingly good, probably the best steak we have had for a long time. All washed down with a rhubarb and ginger gin for myself and a couple of pints for the hubby. Couldn't fault our visit would defiantly recommend this restaurant.

Took my hubby, sister-in-law and mum-in-law for a meal yesterday evening. We waited until after 7.30 for our mains - table was booked for 6. Asked fro vinegar and got no response. Half plates cleared then half a few minutes later. Waited ages for bill, then for card machine .. in the end had to go to the till. The other 3 said their meals were ok, but nothing special, but my meal was rubbish .. DO NOT even think of going here if you are vegetarian and coeliac. I was promised choice and no problems when I rang to book! First of all I was asked to tell the chef what I would like!!!! In the end I was offered curry, stirfry & something else. I chose a curry and it was nearly all peppers & onion & a few mushrooms. The soup was ok, but no GF bread. The veg of the day was broccoli - could have at least added some to make the curry a BIT nicer, but I will not be going back as there are far better restaurants in the area.

Lovely little country pub. Pleasant dining room with wide variety of food from light bites to hearty dinner. Lots of game on the menu, seasonal veg.
Cute little snug for walkers and their dogs.

Never had a bad meal here, yesterday was no exception. I had sea bass, my husband had the dirty venison burger which was huge. Both meals were excellent, washed down with a half of Black Sheep . We sat in front of the real fire, perfect on a miserable day. Highly recommended!
Les Shaw
Great food, comprehensive menu with many unusual dishes, including a special game menu. Not just your standard 'pub grub'. Good service. Highly recommended
Adam Brown
Great menu, executed perfectly. Going to work my way through it

Good food. Visited Rigbye Arms 7th May 2011.

Excellent menu and specials board...took our time over the menu, unfortunately they didn't have what we had chosen!!! would have been good when the menus were given to mention what wasn't available!!
When we eventually got our food it was well presented and tasty but could have done with being a tad hotter!!

Would we go again?? I think so

Disappointing. Busy, only 2 bar/waiting staff, dismissive attitude, food fine , UHT cream with the coffee. Off our list now
Julie
Was really disappointed by the food - service and ambiance were great for a typical English pub- shame about the quality of the grub!
