A brilliant chip shop lovely and clean,happy friendly staff and the best salt n pepper chips you will ever taste.good size portions of both English and Chinese food if you've not been give it a try you don't know what you're missing

Best Chinese around without a doubt! Even give ya free crispy rolls and they're just as good as the meals. The fish is the best I've had too! Parking can be a problem though.

Going downhill. It may just be me but has anyone noticed how poor peter's has gone since it re opened. Today was my second visit since the reopening and my food was shocking. My salt and peppers looked like left overs. Shame as this was once a top quality chippy. Some staff are nice but the fella who works on the front counter needs to learn how to smile.

Peter's chippy is by far the best in Wigan , allways friendly smile as soon a you walk in, every time I go in or go past there is allways a big que , really well priced and really tasty food. Don't forget the salt and peper chips !!
This is the best Chinese chippy in wigan, if not the north west,if not the country! I strongly recommend this over every other Chinese chippy I have ever tried.
Staff are lovely and the food is great.
All I can say is plan ahead and order just after or before peak times otherwise you'll be packed in the shop like tinned sardines. Can't fault the food though, it's tasty grub. Saying this, my wife has a gluten intolerance and the fried rice is laced with a soy sauce with gluten, just beware because the Peter's menu doesn't give much guidance on food allergies. The staff are friendly, and before you blink they'll have your order all ready with free spring rolls too. Parking around the takeaway is a bit chaotic, and Peters now take card as well as cash. Usually there's a free menu to take away with you in the shop as well, would recommend coming here prices are competitive and worth collecting.
It was nice don't get me wrong it's definitely better than most but also saying that I have had better the spring rolls wasn't as crispy as I like, as the prawn toast wasn't either and was bought from counter so think would be fresh...I didn't take it back as had a drink but likely they would rectify the issue if I did big downside is no delivery haha
Almost always great food here, they give you a load of spring rolls when you order too and they're nom!
Tried for the first time Sunday evening, had chicken satay and chips. The chicken satay was fantastic, the chip were ok! The price is on the high side. It’s not my local so will be rare I have the opportunity to visit! I would go again, I’ll try rice next time though!
This takeaway place has amazing food and great staff. From the nearest chinese restaurants and takeaways, this is our favourite from all.

I live in Manchester but take great pleasure in visiting my friend in Wigan. Our plans revolve around chippy tea from Peters. No other chips compare. A small portion is family sized and gluten free too 😸
First time we've used Peter's after being recommended by several people. They didnt disappoint. Huge portions, good food, friendly staff, not expensive.
This place is amazing. Even when it's packed, which it often is, you get served quickly and politely. The menu is extensive, the portions are large but cheap, and the quality of the food is great. You also get a free bag of spring rolls when you order which are delicious! There's a fair bit of on-street parking nearby and you can order over the phone to pick your food up but they don't do deliveries.
I'm a regular visitor to Peters. The staff are extremely friendly and always seem to throw something extra into your order. The quality of the food has always been good. Tip - Pre-order on the phone as it is very popular. Great salt and pepper chips. I'd recommend crispy chilli beef with fried rice 🌶️
New to the area, this place is fantastic, food nice and fresh and more important hot and very very tasty. Being my first visit the lady gave me some freebies very nice touch, very friendly staff would fully recommend peters Chinese and will most certainly be going back without doubt. Ribs the best we have had spring rolls tasty, hot and spicy soup great flavour can't fault anything about this place
