Had a spontaneous trip out down the A1079 to a I’ve driven past but never been in. What a lovely little quaint place, the food is awesome and it has a super friendly dog. What more could you want? The Calzones are amazing. Environmentally friendly cutlery etc is a bonus. All in all a great place to eat.

Love this place! Small simple menu - variants of calzone. The owner's a really cheerful guy and he's got a great dog. The venue is a converted shipping container, and a great place to stop off on the 1079 between Beverley and York. Toilets in an adjacent building are functional.

Great food and excellent service. Let the kids make their own creations with pizza dough and baked them. Home made ice cream is not to be missed. FYO you can bring your own booze. My only complaint is about the use of disposable plates and cups etc. Although these were of the 'green' variety, unless they are disposed of correctly they will not decompose or be recycled and everything was being put in one rubbish bin. Kids loved the place so next time we'll bring our own Tupperware!

Always impressed by the depth of quality delivered by Andy and team. I held my birthday celebration here and received excellent service. There's a lot more n offer that pizza pockets. On the strength of attending my birthday party in June 2019, many friends who would not have ordinarily dined at Gios, have returned again and again and introduced others. I encourage you to give it a go and you wont be disappointed. get the roasted vegetables and pickles as part of the set menu. All palates catered for including vegan. You won't go wrong.

What a lovely place! Doesn't look like a typical place to dine on your way pas, but you will be so wrong, like I was. I will definitely be taking the kids for Calzone and drop in for an Italian breakfast. The owner is a lovely guy, warm welcoming and friendly. I definitely recommend a visit.

Met my lads for a catch up and a bite to eat. We’ve been driving past Gios for 3 years and so decided to pay it a long awaited visit. We got a friendly greeting from the beautiful resident dog. We all opted for a calzone each, spicy tex mex, garlic chicken and pepperoni. A friend had suggested asking about the roasted cauliflower and pickled onions so I did as they weren’t on the menu. We settled down with a drink and caught up on each other’s lives and before long our food arrived. 8” parcels of tasty goodness. We were all of the same opinion. Delicious and filling. So filling that we were going to pass on dessert when Gio persuaded us to share a plate of home made ice creams. Vanilla and coconut, plum and cinnamon, mango and rum and raisin. All delightfully subtle but fabulous. Oh. Almost forgot the roasted cauliflower and pickled onions. We’d never seen this combination before but it went down well with all of us. A lovely contrast to each other and nice accompaniment to the calzone. The atmosphere was relaxed and trattoria like. A great place to meet for a casual excellent value traditional Italian meal with friends or family. We won’t leave it another 3 years. Make sure you don’t too.

Fantastic food. Not a massive choice but enough of a choice that's it's not complicated. Vegetarian and Vegan options. Very friendly staff, always polite and helpful. An eco responsible company. Biodegradable cups. Well worth a try. And not expensive.

This is a nice, casual diner that is perfect for a very casual bite to eat. The calzones are made with fresh dough and the recipes are very tasty. The service is always extremely good, friendly and helpful. Kids get some dough to play with and their creations are backed I the pizza oven. Cash only.
