Had the pizza many times but decided to try the 2 steaks and a bottle of wine deal. Steaks were perfect and walked away very happy. Once again - a lovely meal. Highly recommend.

Tried one of gluten free pizzas! It was amazing, by far the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. My partner had the chicken and chorizo pizza and loved it. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much to the team at Porterhouse. I booked for a group of 26 to celebrate the day after our wedding and they were excellent from start to finish, even though they had to deal with some cancellations and some late arrivals. I couldn't have asked for any more! They were smiley and helpful all the time. Someone had told me in advance that the vegan roast was a bit disappointing, so I'd flagged that as a concern. Well, when I arrived Chloe said they'd tried to make vegan Yorkshire puddings for us! They were brilliant, even the non-vegans who tried them agreed. The roasts themselves were lovely and very generous portion sizes. My friend had the beef roast and had three very thick slices of meat - I could hardly believe it! It was all delicious and I'm so pleased we went. Fully recommend. If you have a question, definitely call them rather than check the website, because it's a bit out of date (the roast meats and prices are wrong). Edited to add: the price isn't wrong on the website, I'm just an idiot! Anyway, if you do call them they're so lovely and literally couldn't be more helpful.

Stopped in without booking on a Monday night. The restaurant area is small without being cramped and still comfortable. The food was excellent. I had a pizza that came out fresh and hot whilst my partner had a beautiful salad. The best part of the evening was the service. The young lady was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. All of our needs were taken care of and really made the evening very enjoyable. An absolute credit to The Porterhouse. We will certainly return.

Really lovely little place. Came here for dinner & to stay the night. Food was good but all the dishes ended up being spicy??? Not sure why as it didn't go with the Linguini but it was nice on the pizza. Very nice selection of food. Very friendly staff. It was pretty quiet for dinner, and the restaurant has lovely interior decoration. Two rooms upstairs are VERY nice, I stayed in the twin bed one however the bed was quite narrow for me. No smart services on the TV but BBC had a dinosaur documentary marathon on so it was grand. Had a great sleep. Breakfast the next day was very nice, a little help yourself place for just the people staying in the rooms, huge selection of pastries, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. Very lovely place and would love to come again :)

My wife had quesadillas and I had cheese & bacon burger. All were cooked perfectly, chips lovely and crispy as well as some amazing homemade coleslaw with wholegrain mustard. For dessert we had cheesecake and lemon tart, again all very tasty. Pub was spotlessly clean, had a great selection of beer and spirits & the staff were excellent. Go enjoy some food and drink here & you'll have a real good time

We booked up as a party of car enthusiasts staying locally for some events... Food was great as was service... My fillet steak was perfect. No complaints from the group. Parking is limited for those not used to the area and was tricky for us. Nice wee place 😁 Would return.

A great little pub and B and B. Staff in the bar were very welcoming and friendly. The idea of the shared kitchen is a plus, and access to hot drinks, etc, at all times was great. I stayed four nights (Monday -Friday) as I was on a course a few miles away. The breakfast, I felt, let the stay down. The issues I raised were dealt with quickly, which was great, one of the problems was no butter for toast, other items were replaced, but still no butter the next morning, I'd bought some while in the supermarket just in case, so used my own, which I left there. Lots of cakes, pan au chocolat and croissants, but some were a bit dry. The pub is on a busy junction, lorries and large vehicles, very noisy into the late evening, and then boy racers and noisy motorbikes passing by, I tried shutting the windows but that made very little difference and the temperature was pretty high so left them open. Not the pubs fault, obviously, but not a very peaceful night's sleep (this was booked for me by my company). The bed was comfortable and made daily, but bin not emptied or glasses cleaned, etc. And the room not cleaned while I was there, also ran out of toilet roll, as no spare given. I would say for an overnight this would be a great place to stay, the pub food was good, the room was good, but the attention to detail let it down for me for a longer stay.

This is a great pub, on a crossroad's. The Beer is always good here, never slept here but the rooms look very comfortable. One thing to remember is that this pub is open on a Monday and a Tuesday, and sells great food when most pubs are closed. They have a Teepee in the rear garden as well where you can eat great steaks.

We have been buying their wonderful pizza's to eat out for quite some time but never had the opportunity to eat until yesterday. The food was excellent, with the desserts extremely good. The staff were very attentive, which made for a memorable visit. They were very good with my Daughter's German Shepard, Geoffrey with water already down and a treat. He gave me the excuse to have the 21oz Porterhouse Steak, cooked to perfection, to share with Geoffrey of course. My family had vegan pizza, and vegan desserts, all excellent. Highly recommended.

Great meal here. I had the Mediterranean Orzo which was very tasty and my friend enjoyed the mushroom and halloumi burger. The sticky toffee pudding was a lovely treat at the end. Very good friendly service and a nice atmosphere in this popular local pub. Recommend booking as quite busy. Will definitely visit again.
