Great find nestled on a country road a short walk from our AirBnB at Rose Cottage. We wnt to The Boot for lunch one day and for beer and tea the next. Everyone was friendly and the food was fresh and just what we hoped for from our first visit to a real pub in England.
Fish and Chips and fish finger sandwiches were so fresh and hot! Yummy thick chips were crispy and perfect with salt and vinegar.
And that Sticky Toffee Pudding Cheesecake!!! So good!
Great experience!

I don't know what magical chef was in the back of this quiet pub but my risotto was creamy and delicious, the shavings of cheese ontop really sealed it. Squid was soft and tender and a perfect starter. Whole family loved it, great way for me to end my stay back home

Lovely original pub and surroundings. £18.50 for a beef dinner is a bit steep but very nice. Extra £4 for mash. Nice staff. A table nearby got fed up of waiting for a waitress to resurface and ordered sweets at the bar. Strange because a few were about. Quite a wait before starter arrived and then for the main. Took nearly 2 hours all told. Anyway, would return if passing but to be honest better value for money at a pub nearby.

Lovely lunchtime meal. The food was great. We left empty, clean looking plates. Pleasant landlady too. We plan to return for a Sunday lunch.

Lovely pub. Delicious food. Very friendly helpful staff. Four Weetwood real ales on, well kept, my only complaint is there ok but a bit dull, a guest exciting micro brewery would make it perfect. Not the cheapest of pubs, but the location, atmosphere, friendly staff, and friendly clientele make it worth the extra cost. I had an amazing fish pie.

Great food... booked in advance, would have preferred to sit in the main restaurant. A table of six for two in the annex didn't give the cosy, comfortable feel you normally get from the Boot. In hindsight we should have just asked to sit in the bar. Staff were fantastic and food and menu choices second to none.

Family get together on Sunday. 23 persons..13 different mains (pre ordered) food of excellent quality and served at the same time.. service unequalled. Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend

Nice pub near Delamere Forest to stop by and the only one in the area that opens early. It was freezing inside and dark fur the most part.

Usually have a drink on a Sunday when out for a ride but today had a meal and was very pleased with the food and service..

It's always nice to end the walk at a pub, especially if you have used their car park. Only had a drink but had a look at the menu. Good service.

One of my favourite pubs. Great place to go when it's sunny to sit outside and catch some rays also a great place to go when it's cold to cosy up by the fire. Traditional picturesque country pub with delicious food served all day. Well worth a drive to for a meal or to stop for a drink after a long walk. You won't be disappointed! :-)

Great little hidden gem well organised and well run and has been for many years by Michael and his team be it for a swift early doors pint or a full on celebration

We came here for lunch for my father in law's birthday. It was cold and my mother in law felt unwell so we chose a table by the fire - one of the waitresses said this was ok. We had our 9 month old with us so I asked for a high chair to be told they don't have any! So I pulled out a portable one that we have. At this point a waitress approached and said we could not have our baby at the end of the table. We offered to move him to an inside chair but this offer was refused - they clearly wanted us removed from the area all together. We ended up being seated in a cold area of the pub away from all the other patrons.
This was a really unfortunate incident that left us feeling very unwelcome. The Boot Inn may be dog friendly but it is very child unfriendly - maybe this should be made clearer on the website.

Dreadful, unwelcoming pub with an illiterate manager.
Children are not welcome under some farcical pretence that there is a health and safety issue.
If only Mike's parents had not liked children then they may not have bothered having him.

Had lunch at The Boot Inn. What a lovely cute little place. Loved all the nooks and crannies, open fires, twinkly lights and friendly atmosphere. The food was good and served quickly, despite it being busy. I will definitely visit again and probably try one of the many walks nearby.

The Boot Inn is what a real local is all about, whether or not you're a regular "local" there! Great landlord, great staff, great ales, great wines, great selection of spirits, great food, + great friendly "locals" who welcome you as well!
