Merrits Burger House

Been going since I was a small 5 year old. Loved it so much, we didn't have a car. So Daddy would call a taxi to pick up our order. Took out kids, now they take there's and take a great grand kid. This place rocks! They do get pretty busy but I promise you it is worth the wait! Especially since fast food joints now have that third stop which is "pull in that parking spot and wait another 10 minutes". The service is great. The food is great and you can't expect much of an atmosphere at a drive-up restaurant. Overall I gave this place five stars because the food rocked the service rocked!!

Merritt’s is a throwback for anyone looking for a drive in burger experience. At Merritt’s you pull up in your car and wait for one of the waitresses to come to your car window. You have the option of getting your food to go or on a tray that attaches to your window. They are cash only, open from 10-4, and there is no indoor seating. They have a wide variety of items to choose from. I went with the BBQ sandwich and the chicken filet with fries and a sun-drop. After ordering it took about 15 minutes for the food to come. I recommend ordering ahead of you are in a rush. The sandwiches are on the smaller side but priced fairly. The chicken sandwich is nothing to write home about but the BBQ sandwich is perfect. It comes tossed in a sweet BBQ sauce with white slaw.

This is an awesome drive in restaurant. It has been in business since 1958. The burgers and hot dogs are reasonably priced and really great. The hot dogs come in top slice buns. The hot dogs taste and look like bright-leaf (red dog). The slaw and the chili are both excellent. The service is great and the atmosphere being a drive in is awesome. This is one of my favorite places to eat. Its not fancy or some expensive gourmet burger but it is excellent for what it is.

Today I had the double cheeseburger with fries. The food was delicious, wish they did grilled onions but that's just my obsession with onions talking. It's got a sonic vibe where you wait in your car to be served without the do it yourself technology so have patients they'll get to you. My server was Melody I believe, she provided outstanding service and was moving quick from car to car, make sure you take care of her it isn't easy working outside taking care of people like that. Would definitely recommend this place, it was a bit of nostalgia reminding me of a few places from my childhood that have since closed.
