Golden Corral

I normally don't expect great food here, but this visit was truly great! We were at this location a few months ago and everything was ok, not as bad as other Golden Corral locations. This visit however was not only better than any other visit to any Golden Corral, but better than other restaurants that are not buffets. Based on this visit I would suggest this location far more than ever before. Great job.

My man and I are "world travelers/live in other countries".. a bit haughty taughty! I did not go here for years with my nose up, saying, "icky poo" to buffets and what most Americans eat. Lord have mercy, I loved every single time we went here. The service (black lady filling coffees, I will never forget her) and the food! OMG. My man, severely handicapped would come with caregiver. When I was in US, I would join them and I cannot say enough about this wonderful place! The selection and flavor and atmosphere!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

Was treated to the Thanksgiving buffet on Thanksgiving Day. Was an hour long wait at 3:25 pm. But the fresh cooked food was worth it. Fresh sliced turkey with all the trimmings, fresh sliced ham, cooked to order thick juicy steaks on the indoor grill. Plenty of sides. Lot's of desserts including pumpkin, pecan and apple pies. Smorgasbord of food.

I enjoy the variety of options. You have the hot cooked bar, the salad bar and the dessert bar. Everything appears to get refilled when it's low or out. There are times customers make messes at the salad bar (I guess since they're not at home and they don't have to clean it up) and that mess or cross food "contamination" will not be address for a several minutes. I seen it for as long a 15 - 20 minutes. The dessert bar has your usual items on it. I was looking for the "Sugar Free" desserts but could not find them. Then I saw on a name card that it said Sugar Free. Problem was, this name card was nowhere near the dessert that it was supposed to be naming. Also, Golden only had maybe 3 desserts to choose from that were Sugar Free for a diabetic to choose from. Wish they had more options for this side of their customers.

We miss the golden corral in Morehead City and was happy to eat here when we seen it. Especially my little girl. Food was pretty good but didn't seem to have the variety our old one did. There were also a bunch of kids fixing their own plates and touching food that was a huge turnoff. Employees should have enforced the rules about kids at the buffet without parents but the parents should have also done the same. I asked one kid to use the tongs and I don't think the kid understood what I was saying and think it was a language barrier issue. Location was clean and service was really was as always at a golden corral.
