The Crab Shack

I was looking for a place to get some crab. I figured there would be more places being so close to the ocean. Anyway read the reviews and gave it a try. The crab was very good. Freshly steam and perfectly seasoned. I thought the staff was really nice. It reminded me of being in a bayou bar and restaurant. Not fancy or upscale, and really not a place for kids. It's more bar than restaurant, in my opinion. Prices were fair. I have paid more for crab. I couldn't give it a 5 star because it's menu choices are limited. I measured it against Joe's Crab Shack. However, best crab place I have visited in Southeast NC, so far.

We literally looked around forever for a place that had a kids menu and found this place. Was worried about eating here because of the reviews on here but we decided to try it anyways. It ended up being one of our favorite places we ate on vacation. The food was amazing and had so much flavor. We got clams, mussels, calamari and crab legs and fried oysters. The kids loved their food and our waitress was great!

We had an awesome experience at the Crab Shack! The service, the food, the quantity of food for the price, the people, the atmosphere... Everything was great!! We ordered a Steamer Pot called the Crab Daddy. It came with 9 whole blue crabs, 1 lb snow crab legs, 1/2 lb of steamed scrimp, 4 ears of corns and some potatoes all for $45.95! In all of my travels, this is the best price for this amount of seafood anywhere! All we needed to top it off was a bib so that you won't mess your clothing up as you eat the crabs with the hot drawn butter. We definitely will be coming back here!

Excellent blue crabs, but call ahead. The only knock is they don't have real melted butter,and the seasoning is not real old bay, nor is there much, if any, on the crabs when they are served. We took ours home to garnish properly. Crabs are hard to find. These we're excellent! Note: I am from Maryland and LOVE crabs. I would definitely go again and either bring my own butter and bay, or a cooler to bring home.

The food was really good! My husband ordered the combo platter and he really enjoyed it. I ordered the little buddy and it was delicious. Our server was friendly and food came out quickly! The atmosphere was very laid back, and casual. We made the drive from Jacksonville, and I wasn't disappointed. I love crab legs, so I will be back.
