Nelly's On Rt.66

Three of us ended up at Nelly’s for lunch in the mid afternoon. Even late they had a pretty good amount of customers. From the counter we ordered a burger, a patty melt and a pork loin sandwich. I think the place is known for its burgers. The tenderloin was on of those pre-made frozen jobs but it was good. And big. Service with a smile and decent food. Cannot ask for much more.

We had an okay experience here. Maybe we came on an off day, but I can only review it based on what we experienced. When we came in there was one family waiting for food and one family eating. We ordered our food, nothing complicated, Fried Chicken and a Burger. However the food managed to somehow take about 50 minutes to be ready. At about the 40 minute mark some other high school kids came in, ordered food, and got it right after we got ours. Service aside the food we got was pretty basic. The burger was very, very well done. The Fried chicken had a nice crispy crust. We got the Cajun fries which were okay, but the spices were pretty powerful and salty. The prices were on point, given the rising costs of everything right now. We'd come back and try again, but only after we've tried other places in the area.

I always go to Nelly’s and the service and food are great. This time wasn’t, most likely due to the new staff that were hired. When we arrived, there was no line, only a few people waiting for their food. We ordered our food and waited an hour for it to actually come out. Meanwhile, the other people around us were also waiting for large amounts of time, even though they didn’t order a lot. The food portions aren’t the same either. We ordered a large fry, but only received 2 small handfuls worth. The pulled pork was also smaller, there being more bun than pork. On top of this, our food was starting to get cold when we received it. Not a very good experience, please make sure your employees work harder to satisfy the customers, even just a little bit. They didn’t care about anyone and didn’t apologize for the wait or anything. Not to mention some employees stopped by after we ordered. They ordered some food themselves and received it before anyone else had gotten anything yet.

Terrible experience! When we walked in there was only a few tables being occupied and they were waiting for they orders. We ordered and I confused the girl at the counter by asking for no bun. More customers started to arrive after we sat down. The food was coming out slowly even thought the kitchen was full of workers. We got our food after 45 mins from ordering. My burger was well done not medium rare like I ordered, my girlfriend didn’t get her fries. Had to go back up and ask for them. The tables next to us were complaining about the wait for their order and when they got it they were missing items that were ordered. The food was ok at best. They started getting busy and couldn’t keep up. Will never go here again! One and done!

Walked in tonight with 11 people after our ballgame right behind the restaurant. Standing in line and when we got to the front, a guy working there said just fyi, we close in 15 minutes so if you order it’ll have to be to go. Well I don’t want my family eating in the car for one, and two, we would’ve been out of there in probably 20 minutes so we just left. Got in the car and it was 7:40 so it was actually 20 minutes until close. Wonder if the owners would be ok with them letting 11 people there for dinner just walk out? I mean big deal maybe someone stays 5-10 minutes late… I would think for 11 customers it’d be worth it. Maybe they don’t need the business I don’t know.
