Heibeck's Stand

There are 5 star meals… and then there are “last meal” meals. This is a “last meal”-worthy meal. Started with a lobster roll - and although expensive - they use high quality lobster meat. The clam strips with old bay seasoned fries were delicious, as well. But the standout is truly their ice cream. Best ice cream I’ve ever had. Got Nutella crunch on top which was just absurd in the best way. SAVE ROOM FOR THE ICE CREAM!

A nice place to take the kids or a date for a bite or delicious ice cream. The young kids that work here are surprisingly friendly and helpful. It was nice to see the pleasant young lady seemingly enjoying her job. Very polite and attentive. That’s become such a rarity, that it really stood out for me! If that’s the way Heibeck’s is training it’s employees, then bravo. If they’ve just hired well, then bravo anyways.

For a roadside restaurant, Heibeck's is a staple in Wilton. It has great ice cream and the food is also a very pleasant surprise. Hot dogs and hamburgers are top notch and they even offer higher end items like lobster rolls. Keep in mind that it's a seasonal restaurant, so you won't be able to get anything in the winter as they do close for the season, so make sure to swing by in the spring, summer or early fall. There's actually ample parking on the northern parking lot. they have a number of tables behind the building as well as some additional tables way off to the side of the parking lot on the north side that were added since Covid. If you're looking for good ice cream or an easy summer dinner to eat outside, definitely head over to Heibeck's. Look for the ice cream cone sign!

This is one of the many iconic pull off the road eateries dotting the state of CT. The Heibeck's have been running this stand since the thirties and it shows in the consistency and longevity this roadside stand displays year in and year out. You will find ur standard grease spot fare w/burgers n dogs as well as a plethora of fried dishes. They also have an interesting selection of tacos which I will be reviewing on my next visit along w/the ice cream which I hope is as good as I remember it being. As for what I did have the chicken tenders are phenomenal! Great crispness to them and the breading has real flavor. As for the fries...slightly overrated due to being way too SALTY! But other than that a nice meal out in the back patio is a win win win during the summer days! Def worth it!
