What a beautiful spot in Winchester! From the enticingly-dressed windows heaving with baked goods to the gorgeous-looking menu. Friendly staff. Good prices. Only swung by to buy a sweet-treat today but would love to come back for lunch one day!
I can't get enough of this cake! The moist texture and heavenly taste make it an absolute delight to savor. Each bite is a symphony of flavors that dances on the taste buds and brings pure joy to the senses.
I had a cocktail bun from here, with coconut custard, and it was a taste sensation! Glad we found this place, so many tasty looking treats, sweet and savoury. Nice decor, super friendly staff, just a really nice little joint. Will definitely be back!
Okay I am so happy I went here. I will rave about this place. It is the cutest place with the best fun food place. The main menu is amazing so is the selection of drinks and baked goods. This place has such a fresh and fun energy to it. So glad this is in Winchester.
Excellent food, decent prices, cozy setting, but quite a long wait for food.
We dropped in to Bento Factory for lunch, and ordered yaki udon, Korean fried rice and tofu bao. The food was all great, especially the fried rice. My only comment is maybe a breaded tofu cutlet in the bao would be even nicer as the tofu has a similar texture to the bun itself. The coffee with tapioca was very tasty, and is worth trying for sure. We didn't have dessert but they all looked incredible and we'll be back to try them out.
The cafe was fairly busy, but there was a very long wait for our food. We were warned it would be 20 minutes but it was well over 40 minutes. It seemed there was quite a few delivery orders which came and went before we got our food, but personally we feel priority should go to the tables in the restaurant.
The place is quite small, so you may have to wait for a table. If there's one outside it's worth shotgunning it to save someone else nicking it while you're ordering.
I've been here two times in two different years and each time was great. They serve Korean and Japanese food, which both times tasted fresh. They serve a decent amount of vegan options which is lovely. They have some amazing cookies and other desserts.
If you're in the area, make your way here. Hopefully there will be seating outside as it's a nice place to stop and chat
A small but very popular restaurant with mainly Japanese, Korean Asian menu with delicious dishes. The selection of Coffee and drinks is great on the menu. The service is fast and efficient though seating is limited but do enjoy outdoor dining in the street when the weather is nice!
The customer service is excellent. They truly try very hard to explain things if asked, recommend items and advise if one has an aversion or allergy to an ingredient. Very friendly and personable as well.
This is a very small cafe with a handful of tables but mostly it’s great for take away. They have their own version of things to make it healthier so the miso soup is not as salty as one might have had elsewhere, there is less oil used, etc.
I’ve had many items from Bento Factory including but not limited to the kimchi radish and cucumbers which are spicy and flavorful, the salmon maki rolls which are abundant, tasty and great value, and the Korean fried rice.
This is the only dish that disappointed me and it did so greatly. I should have asked how they make it because they do things a bit differently and like many other people nowadays, there are ingredients I don’t like or can’t digest. It was so bad that I couldn’t eat it, not any of it. The chicken was dry, inedible and tasted like cardboard. The dish had so many filler ingredients that didn’t go well and ruined the dish such as an abundance of corn kernels, all types of onions including green, red and white onions, and red pepper. There was hardly any rice to go with the ingredients I didn’t want or couldn’t eat and there was no egg. This is a menu item that needs to be reworked in the kitchen or scrapped from the menu because it’s not indicative of what the rest of their food is like. I wasted nearly £8 on something that went straight to the rubbish bin. There was no way to salvage it or pick the ingredients out because there were so many onions, corn kernels and pieces of dry shredded chicken.
Having said that, I have enjoyed the other menu items and the friendly service and will continue to patronize Bento Factory but will stick to the bento and sushi items.
Had a lovely quick lunch here; excellent gyoza and salmon poke bowl, friendly staff and a nice vibe. Highly recommended.
I have been coming to Bento for a few years now and have now been twice since they reopened. With their much larger seating area and super friendly staff, always amazing menu and large variety of home-made bakery items, Bento Factory will never disappoint!
Some really great stuff here cant wait to go back. The pork Hirata bun is excellent. Good Onigiri and Bubble Tea. The only thing I could suggest is this shop should advertise their bakery product on the website. Until I turned up I had no idea they did An Pam and Char Siu Bay.
Really good place, looking forward to my next visit
What a brilliant little find just off the high street - a real local secret! Staff were lovely (despite a few 'difficult' customers appearing during our short stay!) and accommodating to one of the groups dietary needs.
Food was *amazing*. We had a mix of sushi and onigiri with the Bibimbap, Liang Mein, Rainbow Salad and then plenty of the sweet treats - the cookies and Cotton Cheesecakes are amasing! It is definitely on the medium to high side in terms of cost, but that is just the going rate given food costs at the moment - and well worth it in our eyes!
They are sadly closing for a month... but thankfully to move in to larger premises two doors down!
Had my comfort food in the middle of a rainy day down High Street - Felt warm and homey with the bimbimbap and hot latte served in this cosy, pretty and serene cafe tucked in an alley. Walk diagonal from Barclays and you'll see the alley, recommended for fellow Asians craving some home-cooked food :)
THE BEST Korean fried rice. Nice little shop tucked away on a quiet side street of Winchester, staff are really friendly and food is excellent. Would recommend the vegan brownies.
Great Salmon Poke Bowl in the town, decent portion and great taste!
This is my favourite place to eat ever!!!!
I love visiting Bento Factory so much. The vegan brownie and korean fried rice is AMAZING! The chef is very talented👏🏻 The service is also 5star ☺️
Had a fantastic lunch here the other day. Ordered the chicken teriyaki bento, and was not disappointed - it was a very well prepared set of chicken, rice, pickles, small omelette and miso soup, and it was all very tasty. Service is friendly and solid, very broad range of dishes with vegetarian and gluten free options clearly marked. The home-made lemon and ginger tea was a hit, and all at a decent price. Would definitely come back.
