Having read all the 5-star reviews, we decided to book a few nights at this property to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Our expectations were exceeded as Caroline and Jonathan made sure that we had everything we needed (and more) to make our stay one of a kind.
We also had a delightful afternoon tea, which I highly recommend.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. We had breakfast every morning and we enjoyed everything they served with no exception. They do pay attention to every detail and accommodate everyone. We will certainly return as this was one of the most relaxing places we stayed at.

Wonderful property! We are lucky enough to be staying in The Coach House - if you can, please try that suite! Johnathan and Caroline (the proprietors) have clearly put their heart and soul in to Cedar Manor and deserve the awards and accolades that this delightful holiday property brings. It should also be mentioned that, as hosts, they are delightful, kind, funny and deeply caring.
The afternoon tea is first class - above our already high expectations. Even if you are not staying you should try their afternoon tea!
Highly recommended as a luxury location for exploring the lakes. And due to its close proximity to town, easy access to everything - you can’t go wrong with Cedar Manor!

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful building. Jonathan and Caroline were very friendly and attentive hosts. The rooms were immaculate, and it was very quiet. As other reviews have mentioned, the recommendations for places to visit and eat were very useful. There is a beautiful path direct to the lakeshore right beside the hotel, which is lovely. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel, and we look forward to coming again!

I recently stayed at Cedar Manor with my partner for 3 nights to attend a wedding in the area. Our expectations were exceeded. The main building is adorable (quintessential British manor house with manicured garden) and the rooms were very homely and clean. The chocolates and prosecco at arrival were an incredible touch. We stayed in the Coniston room and woke up to a gorgeous view and Nespresso in our rooms each morning. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom included nice products and amenities. My partner appreciated the ironing board and iron in the room which worked well for pressing his shirt. We will most certainly be back for a city break. Thank you particularly to Jonathan for his expert recommendations and top service.

My mum and I had a great experience whilst staying at Cedar Manor. Caroline and Jonathon are fantastic and are very attentive to their guests. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The sitting area was peaceful and the afternoon tea was something I’ve never experienced before. Was definitely the best. We went on to have high tea in London and definitely did not compare. Thank you for having us. We really enjoyed our stay. I’m sure you’ll miss mums stories lol 😂

The Cedar Manor Hotel is a hidden gem in the heart oof the Lake District. The historic building with it's huge Cedar Tree watching over the decades is perfectly located to offer quiet away from the main towns but close enough to walk into Windermere for some touristy action.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and contain everything you need along with some great touches. Jonathan and Caroline run the hotel with efficiency and friendliness not often seen in boutique establishments like this. The staff are excellent all round, the hotel delivers food to rival any hotel, and the place is spotless.
We have been going for years and it's hard to look anywhere else when we visit the Lakes. It's a quiet hotel, perfect for couples. We will continue to frequent as often as we can.

Visited here with my friend today for afternoon tea. We were absolutely delighted. Cedar Manor is beautiful, attention to detail is at the heart of the owners who are such lovely people. A visit to Windermere would not be complete without a trip here, we will definitely be back next year.

Awesome service with staff very accommodating towards our bub (even kindly provided a change mat and nappy bin), lovely breakfast (catered towards my dietary requirements), and tourism tips to enable us to make the most of our time in the district. Stayed here for our Golden wedding celebrations, for 2 nights last year, turn left at the top of the stairs, fabulous room overlooking the lawn at the front. Jonathan and Caroline excellent hosts. Hotel and food amazing, with afternoon tea delicious the best we have ever had. Congratulations for such a marvellous hotel, we are hoping to come back this year for another great few days.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The hosts go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible and saved us a nightmare by suggesting a better walk than the one we were planning.
We had a bit of a glitch with the WIFI, which was a hassle - connection seemed slow, perhaps just a one off.
Plenty of parking.
Each room has a nice hot bath which is great after a long walk.
As a bed and breakfast, it's very, very good. If you are looking for a place to sleep so you can go walking and want the best, then it's for you.
If you're looking for more relaxation, spa/gym, etc, then one of the bigger hotels is possibly a better choice.

The customer service at this hotel is exceptional. Due to a technical issue there was a problem with my booking. I called the hotel at the early hours of the morning in a panic, waking up the owners and they put me at ease immediately. Did not question anything just did the best by me as a customer and resolved my problem within a matter of minutes. I’m so grateful. This is the service I’ve received before even staying there! Beautiful hotel with fabulous food and service. Set in a convenient place so you can just walk to another restaurant if you decide to dine out. Breakfast and evening service were fantastic. I can't remember which room we stayed in, it had a sitting room, master bedroom and ensuite bathroom. Anything and everything you could need already in the room.

We are celebrating our Golden Wedding year and one of our treats was a visit to this beautiful hotel for afternoon tea. I have to say that over the years we have had many of these and without doubt today’s tea was the best we have ever had. The variety of food was excellent and where possible the best local produce was sourced .The owner and waitress were very friendly taking time out to talk with us making a very enjoyable experience. We will be recommending all our family and friends to make visit. You will not be disappointed.

Had the most beautiful experience at Cedar Manor, with a delicious afternoon tea back in September. Lovely atmosphere, impeccable service. Food was so rich and so great value for money, that had to take home some of the sweet treats as we could not eat it all. 100% recommended for a special occasion or simply a cozy treat on a rainy day.
