On a 3 night stop at Windermere en route from Devon to East Kilbride, on our first night walking about looking for somewhere to eat we came across The Pig and we were amazed by 2 food items that were on the menu ! Cheese and herb pizza with bacon and pigs blankets on it and also a smoked salmon salad with a coconut and lime dressing. We walked in, took one look at the seats and walked back out. We came back 2 nights later on our final night in Windermere because we could not be put off and we just had to try this place. The food was as we were looking forward to absolutely amazing ! Portions were massive, we could not finish them and staff were very friendly and efficient. Wine though was very expensive with the cheapest bottle of red being £22. We thought we would really treat ourselves and go for the £24 bottle but the prices sky rocket after that. As I mentioned about the wooden stools. They are the most uncomfiest things that I have ever sat on in my life ! Very high up and if you don't move about then you'll lose circulation and get numb legs and tingly feet within 15 minutes. I understand why they have the smaller tables with stools, its because they take up less space but at the nearest opportunity they should get new stools. Cushioned ones that are slightly lower.

We stopped off & had a drink , read the menu & thought we’ll try the fish finger butty & chunky chips , without doubt the best we’ve had , great place

Doing a road trip from Edinburgh to London, we decided to stay here in Windermere for one night. We strolled the village to check out where to eat and decided on The Tilly. Their curry sounded too good to pass up so we both ordered it, one as a chicken curry, the other as a prawn curry. In both cases it was substantial and magnificent! The Lancaster Bomber beer of the week was great too. Staff were nice and friendly and attentive. I recommended The Tilly!👍

Popped in for brunch today. Great americano coffee followed by King Prawns and chorizo, Duck Spring roll with plum sauce & garlic bread. Absolutely delicious!! Great value for money and very pleasant location with cheerful staff all adds up to a nice experience and memory!

We were looking for a place where it would have a variety of food in Windermere area and we found this place. I had fish & Chips which was a huge and very good and the wife had some veggie Pizza which she liked. We also had some wine to start with and accompanied with some marinated olives which I liked a lot. The waiter and waitress were very nice and treated us very nicely. Totally recommended.

My burger was turning heads on its way to my table, while on the capable hands of the kind waitress! It was probably the best burger I’ve had in my entire life. The goat cheese was so flavoursome and the pork almost did not require any chewing. Thank you for such a lovely dinner!

A lovely atmosphere and delicious food. There were vegan options on the menu but they were great at making adaptations. We had a pulled pork gluten free bun with salad and fries (no dairy) and loaded nachos with all the toppings. It was really good. I can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful evening at this cosy, warm, buzzing local restaurant run by Abigail and Liam who are absolutely lovely owners. Met them at the table next to us and had a wonderful interaction, learning a bit about Windermere and the surroundings. Food is great, just what you need and yet a wide variety of options from your typical pub classics (burgers etc.) to calamari and soup as starters through to pizzas and sea bream (which was incredible!!!!). Good music, good toilet facilities incl baby changing and fair value for money round off this great experience. Paid £50 for two with above dishes plus pint of beer. Will definitely come back!

Got there before they started evening service (our fault for not looking at the website, 5pm if you're wondering...). Had a decent pint while we waited, and the food was definitely worth waiting for. Excellent burger and the veggie chilli was spot on. Friendly service, great food, would definitely return.
