Had a group lunch today at this pub and had the lovely Katie or as our waitress.
We were a large group of 9 with 2 dogs and she was extremely kind in making sure we were all taken care of and looked after well
Including the pups!
Her customer service and gratitude was absolutely exceptional.
The food was great although they did run out of triple cooked chips not great for a weekend but we went for fries instead other then that the food was amazing. Beautiful pub and food.

We had a great Saturday lunch at The Greene Oak, where the food is exceptionally good pub fare and the service warm and welcoming.
We came as a foursome with two dogs and there was plenty of space for the dogs to settle so we could enjoy ourselves. Said dogs were immediately greeted with a water bowl and treats, so they were thrilled from the moment they stepped through the door.
Like other Brucan Pubs, the food is great. Whatever you order, get triple cooked chips on the side. And the creamy corn and bacon is spectacular. High commendation for the Korean Chicken Burger, the Chickpea Katsu Croquettes and the Plaice Special.
Having been around a little longer (I think?) than the rest of the Brucan Pubs estate, it's perhaps a little more tired in decor than some of their newer ventures. But they've set themselves a high bar with their work elsewhere and The Greene Oak is a fantastic choice compared to the local competition.

My heart sank when I realised it was a Greene King pub because their standard menu is normally preprepared. To my surprise the Greene Oak offered an interesting menu of fresh food. There was even a coice of pheasant or grouse. I chose the pheasant and was very happy. Highly recommended.

We stopped by here after a trip to Legoland in the summer. Beautiful pub and garden. We sat in a Horse box to have our food, different but good fun, and the kids loved it. It was my daughters 9th birthday, and when the staff brought out the kids desserts, they started to sing Happy birthday, they also added a candle and decorated the plate. Amazing touch! We didn’t ask for that, they just did it. Great service, drinks and food.

Came in for late lunch. They offer a variety of food that i like from starters to mains. Comfort food for me! Most of their serving had a twist that makes dining experience surprisingly delightful and flavourful. Will be back!
Update June 2023:
Brought a Dutch visitor for dinner. Loved all the food from starter to desserts. Staff also surprised my daughter with a birthday present. This restaurant really makes their guests feel at home with great food and service!

A great place to be and for having an amazing, tasting and lovely presented dinner. Staff was very attentive and caring. We went during the week and it was slightly noisy, but that might be due to the fact that it's still a pub. Highly recommended for a dinner with friends.

I had a great night at the Green Oak with my wife on our Anniversary. This is not a fine dinning gastro pub but it is good food with large portions. The menu offers a wide choice with options that you don't see on other pub menus such as Rabbit which both my wife and I had. It was very good and made a really nice change to the pub classics. We also had an excellent Tart Tartan for desert which I could have eaten twice over. We even got a free desert thrown in for free as it was our Anniversary. It is not cheap but you certainly get what you pay for. The rooms are nicely decorated and the place has a really nice atmosphere. The service was good and the guy serving us had a great sense of humor which added to the enjoyment of the evening. It is not up to the heights of the Crown and the Hinds Head in Bray but I would certainly recommend giving this place a try.

A wonderful Gastro pub on the outskirts of Windsor. The food here is incredible. I got the Gnocchi and it being slightly pan fried first made a lovely difference to the taste. My wife got the vegetarian nut roast and it was the best vege roast. A little on the pricier side but once you taste the food you can understand why. I highly recommend and would return.

Red Mullet and squid bolognese to start, seasonal red grouse w/ gravy, crisps, cabbage and bread sauce for main. Not dishes you see very often on a menu, both executed spectacularly and washed down with a tasty glass of Côtes du Rhône. Highly recommend. Quality ingredients.

The food was absolutely fantastic, service was A* and the pub was very welcoming as a whole.
If I could give the service 10 stars I would! Chole and Jasmine were fantastic, it was my son's 4th birthday and they were so good with him and us in general.
It was like walking into a pub we had been going to for years, except we don't live in this area and have never been!
Would return in a flash if we are ever back in the area.

Really amazing Sunday lunch. Big portions, really well cooked, even with pigs in blankets! Staff were amazingly friendly as well and even I sister on us eating more roast potatoes! Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely Sunday lunch. Our waiter, Ryan, was very friendly and cheerful and service was good. He made us all feel relaxed and good atmosphere. Also, other staff friendly. Only negative is pub does not have disabled toilet. That’s probably because it’s quite an old building. Lovely pub saying that though. Would go back

Today was brilliant. Top notch service, great food and great value. Great time to get food or a few drinks here. Absolutely lovely setting too with seating inside and out.
I have been coming for over ten years and it ebbs and flows between brilliant and mediocre but at the moment they are getting it very right!
Everything in the picture below (plus a few extra carrots which I might have eaten before taking the shot) came to £33 including service - Sunday roast is very good value! Full disclosure - it's tap water and a non-alcoholic cocktail. Still good value!

I have been meaning to write this review for a while... We stayed in the area to attend Legoland and ate dinner here 2 nights in a row. Absolutely lovely venue with a great outdoor seating area. Fantastic food, atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were so attentive. I am not sure if he will still be there anymore, but a chap called 'DJ' served us and he was excellent, along with being really kind/engaging with our children. Highly recommend and we will be back as and when we are in the area again!

Nice pub with great drinks selection and lovely outdoor seating. Food is great quality... maybe a bit on the pricier side than average but worth it and great when you feel like spoiling yourself!

It was another gastro-pub evening. I was invited to another office dinner. Apparently, this is one of the go-to-places for people in the office. <br/><br/>This place was a bit far out but well worth the drive. It had a nice English vibe, with a good outdoor seating area for warmer days. The staffs here were cheerful and nice, adding warmth to an already cozy atmosphere. <br/><br/>I went for a three-course meal composed of goats cheese croquette for starter, roast fillet of cod for main course and milk chocolate pannacotta for dessert. All three dishes were well presented. Everything looked appetising on the plate. The croquette was good. The goat cheese was thick and smooth and went well with the salt baked beetroot. The cod fish came with seaweed dumplings, samphire and mussels with curry cream. The cod fish was ok. It was cooked well - moist and easy to flake - but a bit short on seasoning. They should have served more cream on the side for the fish. That could have added flavour to the dish. I am not a fan of mussels but I tried one and it was fine. It was however, the seaweed dumpling that stood out for me. It was well-seasoned, lightly salty and totally tasty. The pannacotta was wonderful. It came with small chunks of pistachio bread, milk ice cream and chocolate sauce. The pannacotta itself was smooth, creamy and delicious. Adding the chocolate sauce adds another layer of flavour and made the bread chunks taste even better. The ice cream acted like a palate cleanser that was handy after each scoop of the pannacotta. I was glad I did not mix everything together because eating eat element on its own alternately allowed me to savour each bite even more. <br/><br/>This place rates highly in my book for its relaxed ambiance, great service and good food.

Beautiful setting, gorgeous food, friendly staff, nice (little) bar.<br/>Booking advised, although 2 of my 3 visits were spur of the moment and they squeezed me in both times! :0)<br/>Great choice - bordering fine-dining with their beautifully presented food.<br/>I've been for dinner twice and lunch once. All beautifully presented. Dinner for two cost me about £75 (starters and mains, with wine too), and lunch came to £45ish for 2 starters, 2 mains, and 1 dessert.

Good Gastro Pub. Good gastro pub food, nice ambience and friendly service. Having only tried lunch, I'd like to return for a dinner service and the proper 3 courses; however, if lunch is anything to go by, it should be another excellent experience.

The Greene Oak is one of my favourite pubs near Windsor - great location, decor and ambience inside and out. Smart casual dress code.
I've been here several times with friends so this review covers multiple trips.
Food - excellent - good seasonal menu, ingredients, cooking and presentation. Thoroughly recommend the goats cheese starter and pork belly and Jacobs ladder mains. They also stock one of my favorite wines, Archaval Ferrer Malbec.
Service - average. Always a warm welcome on arrival, and table service is generally prompt but lacks personality. This can make all the difference to a meal so its a shame.
Ambience - when busy has a real buzz but in a relaxed country pub kind of way, otherwise good for a quiet dinner with good friends.
Overall - you won't regret going here!

Great place, real cozy atmosphere, amazing food, great staff... The tall, skinny gent that usually tends the bar is very friendly, charismatic and helpful.. Unfortunately, last time I visited, someone else was at the bar (tall, not very friendly, accent...) and after requesting an Old Fashioned, was bluntly told "we don't do cocktails, I mean, I could do it, but it's Xmas and we're busy"... Including me and my fiancee, counted two other people sitting at the bar, waiting for our tables...a simple "I'm sorry, but we don't run a full bar so we don't make cocktails"would've landed much better.. Previous time I remember getting a gin tonic, which I could be wrong but it is a cocktail.. Again, great place, amazing food, awesome staff... Go visit and enjoy.. Maybe the gent behind the bar that night (again, not the usual bartender) is not a people person... I'll visit again and again.. Love the place...

Went here for a work colleague's leaving do and so I came with the expectation of your standard pub. So.wrong. A cozy beautiful atmosphere with excellent and attentive staff and amazing non standard cuisine. Jacob, the bartender, was very helpful with his wine suggestions and poured me a few to try before deciding. I ordered the goat cheese plate as an appetizer, had the salmon for my main, and the chocolate fondant with raspberry sorbet (to diiiiee for) for dessert. The chef definitely puts extra effort into these dishes. Will hopefully come back again!

Regularly quoted as the best pub 'gastro' grub near windsor... so this sunday we thought it was time to check it out
despite arriving somewhat late for sunday lunch (3pm)... it was rammed, but a quick drink at the bar and they seated us at our table. The atmosphere is quite 'Cath Kidson"... sort of sloany country style!
Sunday lunch is £25 for 3 courses, the menu has 5 or 6 choices for each course, then there are a few specials each week on the black board.
I went for soup of the day (pea), then cod in a delicious creamy sauce, and finally a pear and marscapone tart. My partner had the liver parfait, pork roast and baileys and chocolate profiteroles . My courses were all fantasic, and in just the right quantities to leve you full but not over stuffed. He wasnt too impressed by the pork- there just wasnt quite enough of it (but that may have been influenced by seeing the half chickens keep being taken past him on the way to the dinners who had chosen more sensibly than he!). However his dessert was a triumph!- he described it as the kind of pudding that is so good that each time you take a mouthful you are supprised as you have forgotten how god it really was!
Great wine list, nice atmosphere, plenty of parking, imaginative food... its on my regulars list :)

Was here this weekend for a birthday party. Over 30 of us & the pub was busy, but the service was brilliant & the staff were very friendly. The food was great & all arrived at the same time, very impressive for a big group.
Can't wait to get back here.
