Love the vegetarian starter of Portobello mushroom, and the bruschetta was delicious. Great choice of vegetarian flatbreads too and cocktails are amazing. Highly recommend!
Just had a great dinner on the house as a VIP member! Thank you! Loved the Portobello mushroom starter, squid was yum too. Can recommend both the chicken Milanese and the burger. Great cocktails and nice relaxed atmosphere. Delighted this pub in such a great location by the castle has finally been renovated so beautifully and I look forward to coming back soon. If you haven’t been, definitely check it out!
Sunny greeted us with a big smile, which set the scene for a lovely relaxing lunch. We are light eaters, so shared the steak sandwich (which comes with fries on the side) plus a "hog sausage roll", both of which were absolutely delicious. This was easily enough for two, but there were plenty of main courses available for bigger eaters. Also, loved the fact they have a "dog friendly" menu.
We walked by this restaurant on our way to the Windsor tour and knew we wanted to come back for dinner! We did and had a great time. The atmosphere is amazing, just below the castle away from the busier streets. The food was good the atmosphere and ambiance were amazing, we enjoyed our time!
This is an excellent pub - we really enjoyed our meal here :) .
The food was amazing, being very tasty and filling. There was a good amount of variety available, and dietry requirements are very easily adapted to. The reason why this section isn't a "5" is due to a lack of ingredients (ie: no vegan ice cream, or bread and butter pudding). The desserts were very good.
Service was exceptional. Very kind staff that know what they are doing. Very good communicators. Loved it (especially Sonny!).
Atmosphere was really nice - quite large, whilst still being cozy.
Loved it - would highly recommend.
The staff were able to seat our party of 16 indoors and they also helped us/let us put tables and chairs together. It was also so easy that all we had to do was order food and drinks at the bar and not worry about paying separately. The bartenders and associates were kind, friendly, and helpful. Food was tasty and overall a very cozy atmosphere! Thank you The Royal Windsor!
A great place to stop during your visit to Windsor. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the outdoor seating was enjoyable on a warm day. The Sunday menu is quite limited (no chicken roast or fish) but the beef roast overall was a nice dish. The carrots and potatoes needed a bit more time cooking but the beef was tender and flavourful.
Love this pub. The bar staff are always super attentive and polite, and they remember you from last time. 😅 nice little beer garden, great on a sunny afternoon 😎
First off the server Hannah(?) Was amazing!! She went out of her way to try to make our meal pleasant. Daniel was really apologetic as well. My sister got the chicken kabobs and the chicken was very very tough, but the sauce and veggies had a superb flavor. I had fish and chips and it was a HUGE piece of fish.. largest one I have had in the UK for the price, had a nice flakey crust. But a little bland. I also had the sticky pudding and it was not the best I have had.
Wonderful pub with the best views in town over Windsor Castle. We were served by Sunny, he was very attentive and helpful, the food arrived very fast. Food itself tasted divine, a big difference to my local pubs in London. We will be back next time we are in Windsor!
We came across this lovely historic pub whilst the doggos and I wandered around Windsor town centre. It's a genuinely quaint English pub that has levelled up but is also properly welcoming to well-behaved dogs. It's run by the charming Sunny and his incredibly attentive team.
The menu offers really good gastro pub food, and the doggo menu has Artemis's and Apollo's seal of approval 🐾 There's a well-judged list of popular cocktails (yummy and a little deadly), a variety of beers on tap (sorry but I don't drink these and can't comment further), and the wine list is great including a selection of quality, well-priced champagnes and prosecco.
We'll definitely be back whenever we're in town :)
Love this small, typically English town.
There are plenty of good restaurants and Windsor Castle of course. I went there for a hike and except great surroundings, beautiful weather we also were very lucky to see many deers and moses. I absolutely loved it and will be coming back in spring.
