Review The Anchor - Wingham

We went here for a family dinner with kids and parents. This was a beautiful place to have dinner, absolutely amazing Sunday roast, with delicious food and excellent desserts. I could hardly decide what to have. The staff were very accomodating to the kids and made them things that were off the menu just to help us out. They also had live music and a beautiful pub garden for us to sit and enjoy. Overall a lovely experience, clearly quite popular with the locals as people were coming down just for a drink to watch the music

Friendly, welcoming pub. Great selection of driving and non-driving drinks. Varied menu came with a super tasty burger and prawns too. Big garden with games available too and what looks like a constant stream of live music too. Will be back.

We are visiting Wingham Wildlife Park on a Sunday in August so we thought we would have Sunday dinner in Wingham at the Anchor Inn and make sure we booked the week before to avoid any disappointments and make a good day of it all. Good job we did this Inn is so poplar and its very obvious why. The food was excellent nothing at all to complain about and quite honestly its been a very long time that a Inn such as the Anchor felt just like the old days gone by. Friendly, polite and excellent service by all. We didn't take any photos because there is simply nothing to prove here and anyway there are plenty to see online. You wont be disappointed here for Sunday dinner.

Visited The Anchor Inn for lunch and was blown away by the quality. Hard to believe their light lunch is 3 courses for £15. I had the liver and bacon for my main and it was delicious. So too was the whitebait which I had for my starter. Unfortunately I had to share my apple crumble and custard with someone who swore blind they were too full to do a pudding justice.

Very welcoming village pub. Arrived too late for food though. Old world style pub with lovely garden.

Popped in here on the way to stay in an AirBnB near Ash and glad we did. I had the Beef, Brie and Red Onion Jam baguette and it was amazing. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere, meant we really enjoyed it

Great place to eat as the food is absolutely amazing. The staff are so friendly, they cannot do enough for you! I had to meet the chef and I glad I did as we got to meet Charlie, she is an asset who truly cares about what she does and it shows in her food.

Lovely pub in Wingham. Deceptively large, both inside and out. The chicken and bacon linguine was really nice, washed it down with a pint of Otter ale. I will definitely be back in the future

Just had a drink on this occasion. Friendly staff, huge garden, lovely interior to pub. Next time I will try their food, I have heard it is really good.

We had a meal at the Anchor Inn during a holiday in Kent. It was a busy bank holiday weekend but we were made welcome from the minute we walked in. The food was excellent and the service great. Thanks for a superb evening!

Open mic night experience at this pub. Firstly, the parking was great. Although the car parking space in front and the car park opposite were full, there was plenty of on-road parking. The pub itself was a well kept old style village pub and the staff really friendly. Great atmosphere, which you tend to get with village pubs. The open mic session was fab and the sound was surprisingly well engineered and a good variety of local acts. An overall great experience 😊

Friendly staff nice cold kronenburg . I meant to ask if they still served breakfast because I remember it being very good (back in the day)

This is such an easy place to be … and very obviously well frequented by the locals (that includes us I’m pleased to say!). The big garden or lawned area out back is perfect for community activities, Charity boot fairs, lunch, brunch or whatever - it’s a nice place to just ‘drop by’. We had a tasty Sunday Lunch (mine gluten free) - 2 courses £20, 3 courses £24, and then stayed to listen to the band for a while. Always lots going on - live music is quite ‘a thing’ at The Anchor! Inside it’s a lovely country pub with comfy sofas, a real fire in Winter and hops hanging from the old beams. The outside is quite ‘unloved’ looking which is a shame - but overall, a good local pub.

Charming pub in Wingham with a good variety of food. The food was excellent with pretty large portions. If you're around town this is definitely a delicious pub lunch to consider.

Only live down the road from this pub and Iv been missing out! We sat outside, watched some people tidy up after a bootfair, then watched a band setup. Lots going on in the evenings, clean, nice selection of beers, food looked lush. Will be returning to eat soon. Parkings limited but has a car park opposite, or can park on the Main Street. Would recommend

Fantastic little pub, lovely friendly service and amazing food. Everything was clean and the lady at the bar very welcoming. We had sizzling prawns, two fish and chips, and a ham, egg, and chips. The fish was extremely fresh and flaky and the batter wasn't at all greasy. The chips were great and not greasy for all the meals, and the prawns were huge. Very well priced and lovely atmosphere, would definitely visit again.

Never been in a pub where you treated like a 'local' within 30 minutes. A truly dog friendly, welcoming pub with excellent food at very reasonable prices. Wish we lived a bit closer as it would truly become our local. Thank you for being so kind to us and such lovely customers!

Great, a very welcoming and accommodating dog friendly pub with a lovely food at a reasonable price.

Theres so much going on in this cosy, delightful labyrinthine pub. Fantastic staff, food, beer and other folk to meet. On top of all that, great music.

A great pub, with a warm welcome and excellent food at reasonable prices. Love the original features and character. Not all pubs are so friendly towards crusty old bikers, as we found out further up the road (least said, soonest mended). Will definitely eat there again.
