Great food and service, but a bit cramped, as we were a large party
Fantastic home made food and plenty of it to large portions look at the specials board the biggest burger I have ever seen it was knock out beats anything else of that nature locally .service was impeccable and polite nothing to much trouble great atmosphere, new to the area I will frequent this establishment on a regular basis, best pub in Wisbech. The rack of ribs look good they passed me at the bar the other day ( looks like a must to me )

First time at Red Lion since Maggie left. Service and food as good as usual with few changes to the menu. I had the steak and ale pie with sliced fried new pots and veg from the specials board which was delicious 😋
Staff greeted us upon arrival on a Saturday lunch time (we didn't have a booking). Food came in decent time and was absolutely delicious! I had a jacket potato with coleslaw (coleslaw was not on the menu but we asked and they enthusiastically provided), my mother had the scampi and said the batter was so light and beautifully cooked. We were pleasantly surprised at the total cost of our meals and staff were absolutely lovely. Will definitely be returning when next in the area.
Had a lunchtime meal. This was the first time since new ownership. We found the staff very friendly and the food was brought out at a reasonable time it's was excellent and very hot we will definitely return
Brilliant pub that I have been to several times. Food is brilliant and plentiful to the price you pay.

Visited The Red Lion on 22.11.2022 for an evening meal. Table booked for 7 pm for 5 people. Arrived just before 7 pm and received a friendly greeting. Was shown to our table which was reserved. Drinks ordered at the Bar and added to tab for the table. Only one person ordered a starter which was Cheesy Garlic Bread which was presented beautifully and was enjoyed, sorry no photo of this. Of the main courses ordered we enjoyed Hunters Chicken with Chips, Beef and Ale Pie with Chips, Scampi, Chips and Peas, Fresh Salmon and Prawn in a Cream and Parsley Sauce which was from the Gluten Free Menu and served with Vegetables and Chicken Tika Masala, Rice and Naan Bread. No picture of Currry meal, but there are of all the others. Beautiful food, hot, plentiful and cooked to perfection. Our first visit to The Red Lion under new Management, wasn't disappointed and will return. Serving staff attentive and a credit to the pub. Thank you for a most pleasant meal.

Proper old school pub with freshly made gorgeous food, great atmosphere and made an extra special effort for my daughter's birthday, will definitely go there again when in the area.
Delicious lunch in traditional Elgoods pub with real ale. Fantastic. I recommend the Whitebait starter particularly. Level access.
What a wonderful restaurant and so reasonably priced. The Cheese and Ham Ploughman's was the best I've ever had.
Really good service, sadly their curry, although well presented tasted nothing like a curry . Maybe I made a bad choice as they have a really good menu

I used to drink with colleagues from work occasionally....late 90s..I was walking past and popped in on impulse....I have just returned after a few years walkabout in Africa. I felt like Rip Van Winkel. It was a proper boozer then. They are serving very well presented food and all the patrons seemed happy. Still a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff.

The food, was amazing talk about value for money, we both thought £11 was a bit expensive for a lasagna. When it arrived we both looked at each other. It arrived in a medium sized Pyrex dish, I said to my husband "there is no way your going to eat all that". But he did he said it was amazing, all home cooked and worth every penny. Infact we are going back this Sunday for lunch as we have family down. Can't recommend this place high enough. Beautiful setting, own outdoor space, excellent service, the food is amazing, value for money. You definitely need to go
