Just so you know Peps Plaice chip shop that rules from a great height.
First things first... The Chips. I'm new to the delight of Wolverhampton chippies but even though battered chips aren't a Birmingham staple I've experienced them enough to know when they are exceptional. These are just that. Just enough to add an Extra level of taste but not make you feel like you're eating your way to an early grave.
That said I would suggest sharing a large bag between at least two people or going for a cone of chips to accompany your choice of fish.
So how about the fish?
Well when fresh the batter is light but strong enough to hold the ever so light cod within. When not as fresh out of the fryer the batter soaks up the vinegar and softens while the cod holds its flakes. Peps Plaice really put the effort in and when they are busy they have plenty of great staff to serve you as quickly and as friendly as possible.
Even the curry sauce and gravy stand out from the crowd. The quality is way higher than most inland chippies so in my opinion they are not to be missed.
Love this chippy. Staff are friendly and very efficient and the food is always good quality.
Obviously prices have gone sky high everywhere recently so it's more of a treat now than a weekly visit.
Our first time here, so we went for the mixed kebab meat with chips in a tray special. Amazingly delicious and very good portions too. We will certainly be going again soon. π

A really lovely fish and chip shop. I live a few mikes away but much prefer this chippie to others in the area. Beautiful clean place, lovely fish and great chips!
No complaints, Fish and Chips were 10/10. Usually big queues on weekends and some evenings, however this goes down fairly fast and is definitely worth the wait. Thanks guys!

Wow! π₯ Absolutely F amazing! π₯ Best chippy food in Wolves in my opinion.. because if you ain't tried Peps then your missing out big time! Had to try them out as my cousin's are chippy regulars here and always say good things about Peps.. I'm from Lower Penn/Springhill so my local is Penn chippy or chip stop who aren't bad either, but Peps is next level, Lovely well mannered staff too π₯ Good job I was on my last drop in Compton on deliveries for the day. Bangin food, made me a regular, thank you! π

The food was really good, I ordered a doner meat in naan. Was really busy, but they have a lot of staff, which meant I wasn't waiting long. Usually a bit out of the way for me but was local to it Friday night, so I gave it a go as it was previously recommended. Definitely worth the travel π

Excellent quality chips, incredible SF Chicken, friendly staff and quick service. The queue only gets long because of how good it is compared to other chippys in the area.

This has to be by far the best chip shop in Wolverhampton . Yes there was a queue for about 15 minutes but that just shows how good the food is as people are willing to wait , even in the rain.
If you want excellent food and great service then peps plaice is where you need to go .....ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT in every way .
