Nice 'proper' pub, but would be nice if the beer range changed a but more often. It's a tied house so I get why it doesn't, but this spoils an otherwise excellent place. Not all drinkers just want Carling every single time.
Ordered the lamb hotpot with a few beers, as far as locally sourced hearty british food goes this place gets a 10/10 all day long. One of the best meals ive had in years eating out and value for money is outstanding. Friendly and inviting staff, great local boozer even through covid.
Enjoyed a Lovely meal in newly decorated surroundings. Excel lent service from catering and bar staff. Nothing too much trouble.
The staff are always welcoming and very perlite plus the fire is always on , so lovely and warm
