Review Taco Shack - Wolverton

Jenny Weiand
There are so many great things I could say about Taco Shack. My family had the pleasure of eating there twice last month, at two different food festivals. I wish I could find them more often! We are Americans who have been living in England for 5 years. WE MISS MEXICAN FOOD and great tacos. Taco Shack has the best tacos we have had anywhere in the UK during our time here. This is also a place the whole family loves, which is rare. We have three very picky kids. I also have Coeliac Disease, and they took great care to make sure my tacos were safe for me. I cannot recommend them enough.

Chris and Alex are clearly dedicated, passionate and decent businessmen who are committed to their catering company. The menu is excellent and they're available for a variety of different events, we personally cannot wait to try their delicious food for our wedding!! If you're needing a reliable service with excellent communication and flexibility, I would highly recommend this team. The guys are just wonderful, down to earth, approachable gents and we are so grateful for all they've done for us. Thank you both again x

Massive thank you for catering at our wedding, the food went down really well and we had lots of great feedback from our guests. Communication was great and food was cooked fresh, 100% recommend!

Just visited the Shake Shack in Westfield Stratford. Never again! Frozen chips and frozen burgers!!! If I was going to buy frozen I would have just gone to the chicken shops around the corner for half price and a fully cooked burger! Ordered the chicken burger and after two bites and a weird taste realise it's not even cooked. I ask staff whether their chicken burger is cooked from frozen and they said yes! Why am I paying £6.50 for a frozen burger? They replaced it with a beef burger that was thin as a pancake and greasy all the way through. Don't spend your money here!!!! It's a scam! Staff couldn't even look you in the eye with an apology. Miserable food.

After waiting over 30 minutes for 1 burger and 1 fries and staff refusing to let the queue of over 15+ people waiting for their food know why it was taking so long. I was throughly disappointed to receive a cardboard tasting burger which was bland, dry, flavourless and had no sauce. The fries might have been nice if they weren’t still frozen. Sat there wishing I’d gone 5guys. But I’m sure if I wanted to join the queue to complain or refund I’d have been waiting a minimum of 2 days with no one actually bothering or caring about their customer service, over priced, badly cooked if you can call it ‘food’.

Overpriced crap. The ‘fries’ were standard frozen crinkle cut chips, burger was okay but the meat its self was tasteless only the sauce and toppings gave it some flavour, hot dog looked absolutely appalling and was hard to eat. Only saviour was the shakes however they weren’t joking when they named the Salted Maple shake.. it tasted like I’d swallowed some sea water staff were odd and didn’t speak when giving a menu or taking a tray away from you (literally as you put the last bite in your mouth the tray was gone) and she looked like she wanted to end your life. The space was cold and dull with uncomfortable seating. Went to the one near Victoria London.

First and last time in Shake Shack!! After standing and walking for hours at Pride and then watching the game, my friends and I decided to get some food in the Covent Garden branch before going to Soho. The person who suggested it didn't know I was vegan and I didn't want to be a pain so I followed, confident that they'd have at least 1 or 2 vegan options, like most places in central London nowadays (especially chains). Well... after queuing for a while, I asked for the 'shroom burger with no cheese. The lady said: "Sorry we can't do that as the mushroom is already filled with cheese" I guess because it's frozen?? So I asked what they had for people who didn't want to eat meat or dairy (I didn't ask for vegan) and she said "fries?" Yeah thanks, I'm hungry, that's not a meal! So she said "We have the Garden Dog, even though it's not on the menu." Which is basically their hot dog without the sausage. I said that I would complain online because that is not a meal. But I ordered it anyway as we were a group of 6 and didn't want to ask all my friends to leave because of me! Anyway after quite a long wait, my food arrived. The Garden dog was the opposite of what they said, ie the meaty sausage and the salad and veg, with no bun. I had to send it back and wait even longer. In the end I had bland bread, lettuce, a couple of slices of tomatoes, weird-tasting chopped onions and green spicy pepper. My fries were so bland I had to add salt and mustard to them, the McDonalds ones are much better. My drink was ok (Strawberry & Mint lemonade) but very sweet, I wish they had a sugar-free option. Staff were not even apologetic or friendly. Tl, dr: not vegan-friendly (it's estimated that there are at least 3.5 million in the UK and most of them I'm sure hang out with non-vegans so need options to eat out with them!) , slow service, expensive for what you get. All in all, to avoid at all cost if you care about your health, animals, your wallet or your tastebuds!

Very disappointed with my experience at the Victoria Street branch last Saturday. I asked if their chicken was halal (as for conscience and animal welfare reasons I don't consume) and I was told that all the chicken is halal. I find this shocking. Not only because I think it's wrong to impose halal on everyone due to the preferences of a minority, but also because they advertise their beef and chicken as 'humanely reared' and halal goes completely against that. Also, I have found nowhere in the shop itself or your website where it states that all the chicken is halal, which I think is another very bad point. To top it all up, my meal was average at best. Such a shame because I thought that it looked great and wanted to like it. I love the idea of the doggie biscuits but sadly you failed me on the other fronts. P.S. When I voiced my concerns to the staff and asked if they had a suggestion box or similar for customers' input, I was met with blank stares and they then just rudely ignored me. Really poor customer experience along with everything else.

Their burgers are small and a bit pricey but we love their cheesy fries. Also, the waiting time is a bit too long. They also forgot to ask whether i like to have the lettuce and tomato on my burger, so i ended up with just the beef patty and cheese. We enjoyed the burger though. Really tasty.

Honestly the worst burger I’ve ever had. Completely tasteless. What is the hype with this place? Wish I hadn’t eaten it, let alone spent £8.50 on it and waited 10 minutes for it

Currently attempting to eat at the Covent Garden location, tiny burger, massive price, over charged us for bacon fries without bacon, got our order wrong, very impatient, rude staff with bad attitude. Definitely avoid at all costs.

first time going with my children and the service was fantastic, staff are very polite and friendly at the Victoria Branch! bit on the expensive side but the fries are definitely the best we’ve ever had and the burger was superb My children also enjoyed the concrete ice cream and the „Shankenstein“ ice cream which is a Halloween special .

The SkakeShak taste is still great but not enough space and some people sit without eating ! The staff don’t act to regulate... Sorry but waiting standing with my meal... Not a good experience....

I had Shake Shack at The Big Feastival this weekend. Limited menu for speed of service which is understandable. The cheeseburger was great, really simply put together with fresh salad and signature sauce in a lovely bun. Super tasty handheld portable food, perfect for walking around a festival. Can't stand messy burgers that slip and slide about and lose their fillings - style over substance! Could do with a Shake Shack restaurant in Cornwall! The fries are bad ass as well!

This is basically just an overpriced glorified McDonald’s. £4.00 for a hotdog that was a finger thin sausage in a dry bun is appalling. You also pay £5.50 for a burger that is gone in three bites. Toss up between here and McDonald’s save yourself the hassle and go to McDonald’s because it’s basically the same thing. Absolute day light robbery, worst value for money for under average food.

Burgers were tasty and shakes were good, but £37 for 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 shakes is pretty pricey even for the West End. Bear in mind this is not table service food and took 15 minutes to prepare. Same food in McDonalds would be £20 max in 5 minutes. Is it worth twice the price? Not in my opinion.

I love Shake Shack! I can't get enough of the cheese on the chips. The cheeseburgers are devine and the bottomless soft drinks are excellent! Service is friendly, much better than other fast food restaurants. The price is worth it. I always look forward to going here when i'm in London.

Way overpriced for what I got for 12 quid (single puny cheeseburger w/bacon and a tiny-looking shake). Burger tasted okay but was a bit boring...shake nothing special.

I visited your Leicester Square Shake Shack yesterday evening & was disappointed that for a 'fast food' restaurant, I waited 25 minutes for the most basic meal on the menu. I eventually had to leave without getting my food in order to catch my train home - £15 down and hungry. I wasn't even told that there would likely be a wait. If I did, I wouldn't have ordered. Not good

£5 for half a milkshake! Seriously, it's so small for that price. Nice a creamy. But SMALL!! Doesn't taste like strawberry either. Everything is served in takeaway containers too, so we're not even paying for the washing up! Plus, there are 20 people here, total (in the whole restaurant - Westfield) and it took 15 minutes to get 2 (very over priced) milkshakes.

Best food around, fries and milkshake better than five guys. Burger small for money. Charged for side of sauce to try as well. Will be back!

It was my first time to visit Shake Shack in Cardiff. The place is inside the mall, located in front of Victoria’ secret store. I’ve ordered Shack meister and Shroom burger ( vegetarian) with Mango lemonade and fifty fifty which is 50% ice tea 50% lemonade.

The shack meister was ok, it was a burger with fried shallots and shack shack sauce. I didn’t taste something special on this. In my opinion the meat was a little bit dry. But it was still tasty.

The shroom burger was really good. It was a fried mushroom topped with cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. I really like this one because it has a crunch on it.

Overall i spend about 18.75 pounds. The service was quite fast. Bon Apettit!!

The first ever UK Shake Shack outside of London will open its doors today, on the first floor of St. David’s Shopping Centre in Cardiff. If you fancy dining in a burger bar chain beloved by President Obama himself, here’s what you can expect. The menu features all of the usual, American ‘Shack favourites’, including the ShackBurger and the Shack-cago Dog (that’s a hot dog topped with relish, onion, cucumber, pickle, tomato, sport pepper, celery salt and mustard, to you and me).

The opening of the first Shake Shack branch in the UK outside of London is a massive coup for Cardiff. With its origins as a hot dog cart in New York City’s Madison Square Park, the St David’s Centre branch of Shake Shack is the 71st for the gourmet fast food chain which was founded by legendary restaurateur Danny Meyer.
