I really like this little pub, a friendly atmosphere and a fantastic selection of funky Rums and Gins with the usual ales and stuff on tap, a great bunch of bar staff that make this place thoroughly enjoyable for an evening out.

A stereotypical English pub in the centre of Woodbridge which is always busy with a positive atmosphere when ever we have been. The setting is great and the staff are really engaging. A great pub for a night out.

Great variety of ales, including it's own brew and a fantastic choice of over 100 gins, which are all paired perfectly with garnish and mixer. Definitely aa gem within Woodbridge and look forward to my next visit.

We are new to the area and recently discovered the Angel. They offer a very good selection of ales and lager beers from draught, but their specialty must be their gin & tonics. The lady who served us was very enthusiastic about the selection of gins and tonics, and made some excellent recommendations based on our taste. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the week after. We were welcomed back and the staff remembered what drinks we had during our previous visit. That is a level of service that I do not experience often. Recommended!
Honest Opinion
Really good old fashioned pub with a good selection of real ales and more than 250 types of gin. In winter they have a lovely open fire in each bar which means if you are in Insulate Britain or Extinction Rebellion you might have to glue your head to the road just incase people might be enjoying life. Great 400 year old plus pub to visit.

This is a great boozer. Friendly staff, good range of beer, excellent service, I understand they also have gin. COVID safety well managed with nice outdoor space. Location up the hill makes it easy to roll back down after a few.

Great pub. The landlord is a lovely chap who was terribly welcoming even when we walked in with two kidsand a dog, interrupting the chat with regulars. Lots of local beers and craft ales plus hundreds of gins which they mix with pride using fresh ingredients such as pomegranate seeds. For the record they've been doing this since before it got trendy. No food, but there's a food truck in the courtyard outside 9-12 evenings, that we didn't sample,but menu looked interesting.

Amazing staff. Great locals. Friendly and welcoming vibes, warm fires, comfy sofas or table space. Great beer garden out the back as well as carpark. Gins, oh my so many gins!!!! Best gin I've ever had! Great Variety of real ales.. lots of music nights! All round fabulous pub!

Good beer, nice Gins too...outside seating in rear courtyard. Friendly and helpful staff. Only given 4 stars as looks to be having a refurb, bits and pieces all over the place inside and out, so a little untidy... When we arrived a pizza oven was being fired up in courtyard, so obviously food is available. Was relativly busy, locals and visitors good place to stop for a drink certainly if walking around Woodbridge. There was also adverts for live music, so expect there can be good fun evenings there too

Great little pub with big atmosphere and even bigger gin collection. Landlord is always welcoming and bar staff are always attentive. Yet to sample their live band nights but hear very good reviews.

Nice gin, tonic and garnish pairings and the staff are knowledgeable and can give recommendations based on what you like. It's also trendy with the yoof.

The staff and landlord were amazing. Great evening and great gin tasting session.. i would say better than a brewery tour.. just go here sit down enjoy open fires and the landlord will do the rest and take you on a brilliant gin tour..

It's really good to see a pub serve a range of ales, not just the overly hopped 'craft' lager you find most places these days.
Friendly staff, efficient socially distanced service. Not too expensive either.
