Thoroughly enjoy our evening. Was very surprised to have this gem of a resturant on our door step. The food from the beginning was spot on, good selection of pickles and chutneys with the poppadoms, starters and mains were cooked perfectly with succulent meat and fish with fantastic levels of taste throughout the dishes. Naan breads and rice dishes were up there too.
Lovely tasty food. Unfortunately as we were the only table dining on a weekday evening it seemed as if the staff couldn't get rid of us soon enough. By 9pm we could hear comments of "OOH it's bedtime" and the owner was heard loudly on his phone saying that he had finished and was just waiting to lock up. If you work in hospitality then be hospitable. Spoilt our special evening.
From start to finish, a masterclass in hospitality.
Comfortable restaurant with tables nicely separated. Great background music.
The staff were brilliant, engaging, and helpful.
The food is quite simply amazing.
I can't wait to return.
We got a table for four for supper.
The papadums were good here, with a generous selection of fragrant pickles. For mains, the boys had lamb dishes: mine wasn't that tender, but the other was fine. Flavour was exceptional. My wife had a chicken dish which she loved. Tasty and tender. A king prawn korma with poorees was also very good, even though the poorees were not strictly on the menu. Service was prompt and attentive and it was a thoroughly relaxing evening out.
Had a takeaway last week the food was superb ,very tasty some great spices. Parking is so easy as is access from Emswell or Woolpit
Took a while to be seated, although we were directed to the bar with stools whilst we waited. Once sat, service was incredibly slow. We had to ask 3 times for refills of drinks before we actually got some. The food was excellent quality although we found the portion sizes to be smaller than we are used to. The staff looked a bit stressed but were friendly when addressed.
My favourite restaurant in Suffolk. Amazing food and very good service.
An unexpected pleasure, that is obviously well known and frequented by the locals for both eat in and take away.
The welcome was as warm as the lovely spicy meal that followed, though my lamb dish was a little heavy on the ghee for someone trying to loose weight. Everything was tasty and well presented. The manager was friendly and attentive, and seemed on a first name basis with most of the customers. Local repeat customers is always a good sign.
I'm not sure what main dish I had, but the lamb was nice and tender in a medium spiced sauce cooked with fresh tomatoes. Naan and pilau rice to accompany, nice poppadoms with all the trimmings while I waited.
Went to Mon Mon Spice on Friday Evening, with a large party of 30 colleagues.
Buffet was Excellent
Service was quick
Bar was well run - quick Service ( Cobra on draught was a good idea and respected by my colleagues ).
Restaurant was well furnished and warm - despite it being bitterly freezing outside.
Well done Jimmy and all the staff at Mon Mon Spice !
Lovely, clean restaurant and lovely decor. Parking is excellent. Food....well, OK, nicely presented but lacked heat and I did ask for medium strength. I ordered Chicken biryani which comes with a veg. curry but oh, so dry. Hardly any sauce. A bit bland overall. I will go back again and will try a different meal. Pakora was lovely but no dip accompaniment which is standard where I come from (Glasgow). Would also have like some Indian music but just pop stuff. Indian music would give more atmosphere.
First visit and will definitely be going back soon. Had a great birthday meal.
Good service, good food, nice restaurant. Parking good. We turned up without a booking but we're accommodated no problem and through the evening it seemed plenty of people coming in for a meal or picking up take aways so a good sign. Would eat here again.
Superb food, lovely warm, friendly staff. The service is great and there’s plenty of parking
My son and I dined, saw it when at the Hungry Stag next door.
The poppadoms anddish selection was good, followed with chicken dish and sauce, onion bhajee, coconut rice for me mushroom for son.washed down with draught tiger beer. It was a relaxed experience, staff polite and friendly. We will go again.
Ordered takeaway from Mon Mon Spice for the first time yesterday, and it won’t be the last!
I’m a vegan, and am used to a lack of choice when eating out. When I asked the gentleman at Mon Mon Spice what they could offer a vegan, I was so happy to be told “pick anything and we will accommodate it”. He made suggestions of things I might like, and when I was looking at “normal” things, told me what was in it that wasn’t vegan, and how they could adapt it so it would be vegan.
All of the food, for both the meat eaters and me, was absolutely delicious, generously portioned, fresh and hot!
I would absolutely recommend, and will be back.
Didn’t eat in, but the interior was really lovely, and looks great for a nice meal out.
First time visiting and cannot fault the food or service at all. Sunday buffet, food very fresh and hot, service very attentive. Easy access with plenty of parking. My only criticism would be the price of the drinks. The buffet was well worth the money though. Would definitely go back.
