Went for the afternoon tea for my daughters baby shower and must say it is one of the best we have had well worth the money. Staff could not do enough for us very plesent and very helpfull,will deffinatly be returning and would highly recommend to anyone
Had the chicken and rib combo, the chicken was nice but the ribs were the best I've ever had the meat just dropped off the bone, the onion rings are great the whole meal was lovely and massive portions. Can't move now I'm stuffed
I am pretty much a regular at the Galloping Horse often popping a last minute meal. I have to say tonight I had a ribeye steak and was absolutely fantastic and cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef �

Amazing food at a really great price. You get lots on your plate and it's fantastic quality! The staff definitely needs a heads up as they could not be more attentive! Asked many times how the food was and if there was anything more they could do! Absolutely fantastic!
Had the burger stack n omg it was amazing couldn't fault anything about our experience staff where good and our waitress was so nice food was delish toffee vodka very yummy 5 star experience xx
Thank you so much for letting us have Mam & Dad’s golden wedding celebration in Wuckys Nook last night. It was fab from start to finish. Buffet was lovely and there was loads of it; staff were brilliant and friendly; and the room is great for a small celebration. We could not fault it at all. We all had a great night. Thanks again xx

Excellent lunch here today with friends. There were 12 of us and apart from the food being delicious the service was really good with friendly and helpful staff doing everything they could to help us enjoy our meal. Will be back! Well done Galloping Horse ��
Lovely place, Huge portions!!! Very tasty, very friendly staff, not badly priced either. Will probably stick to a sandwich at lunchtime....but fab menu for a night out!
Fantastic lunch yesterday. Beautifully cooked and plated and served by friendly staff. Real value for money at £12.95 for three courses. We'll be back!

A thoroughly enjoyable Saturday lunch…
We arrived at 1pm and found plenty of spaces in the car park, which was surprising for a Saturday - I imagine the roadworks could have something to do with that.
We were immediately given a table and a warm welcome as soon as we entered, menus were given to us straight away and the drinks order was taken quickly too.
We both had a pint of coke which was nice and refreshing, the drinks came really quickly!
For food, I opted for the chicken and mushroom penne pasta from the lunch menu and my partner chose an egg sandwich on white bread with chips.
My pasta was absolutely amazing, full of flavour and plenty of chicken and mushrooms amongst the pasta - It even came with two slices of garlic bread which is great for lunch menu prices, the garlic bread was delicious, soft yet crispy and had a slight barbecue taste to it, it was really good.
My partner thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich and chips, I can’t comment on the taste as I personally don’t like egg! - I did try the chips though and they were lovely, flavoursome and a great texture.
Leah, our server was particularly helpful and friendly, she got everything that we asked for very quickly and checked in on us to make sure everything was ok.
Overall a very positive experience and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a good menu and tasty hearty food in a modern setting.
Booked on a whim as was struggling to find anywhere that served pizza for my daughter but so glad we did. Food (especially the chips) was amazing. Fish was cooked to perfection and everything was clearly freshly prepared and excellent quality produce used. Staff were friendly and efficient and took the time to speak with us about our visit.
Will definitely recommend and would also revist if back in the area.

It's a lovely place that, unfortunately, is being let down by rather mediocre food. It tasted like the cheap takeaways that one can get at the supermarket and the chips were undercooked. If I just want to go out for a drink, I'd say it's a lovely place. For eating not so much.
Trip here with friends before on to a show was really good. Everybody's food looked really good and they all had complimentary things to say. I had the fish and chips and it was very nice indeed.
Service was excellent with friendly and approachable staff even while clearly quite busy which was good. They easily accommodated our request and the bill was very reasonable for good food will certainly consider returning if I'm eating that way again.
Enjoyed our meal and the service was brilliant. Would of been 5 star but got a sticky toffee pudding and its the 1st time I've had it cold always thought it was hot or at least warm.
Great food, great drinks and friendly staff with fabulous décor. Great lunch time specials menu. Looking forward to returning.
Everything was great but the prices are a bit high in my opinion. Its around 18 quid for a 8oz sirloin

5 of us went last night for our department Xmas meal. 3 pre-ordered from the Xmas menu, 2 from the normal dinner menu and 1 didn't make it. Even though we didn't tell the staff till we were there that the group was 1 short, it wasn't a problem. (I'm assuming) the manager came over and checked our orders before sending to the kitchen then our food started to come out in a timely manner. No long wait between courses, just a nice steady flow. Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. Food was fabulous. I had the steak - ordered it medium/well-done, it came well-done but I didn't mind (I'm still acclimatising to medium cooked steak 😁), chips were yummy, 2 big onion rings were plenty and a peppercorn sauce to go with. Other had scampi and chips, turkey dinners and a chicken parcel with potatoes and veg. Empty plates all round by the time we were finished! Desserts again were delicious and more empty plates followed. My only little niggle - and it's not even my niggle - was the pre-orders were part of a 4 course that included coffee and mince pie - and they never got this. It wasn't even offered, yet when they went to pay the staff member said 'so you had the 4 course Xmas dinner....'. As I say, doesn't matter to me as I don't like coffee and mince pies but they had paid for it so.....
Anyway, all in all was a good night, well deserved for all our hard work this term! I highly recommend the London Road cocktails, they are scrumptious! Would definitely recommend The Galloping Horse for a good meal!
