The food was lovely. The staff, although helpful, need a little more training. The venue is lovely. We sat in the sun and had a very nice meal.

We stayed for one night. The room was lovely. Breakfast was very nice. The building itself is nice but didn't read up on the history.

Enjoyed a delicious meal here recently along with friends. Menu is varied and food cooked and presented well. I thought dishes were good value for money too. We were sat inside just off of the main bar and we had the room to ourselves. We were told there was going to be a private party next door within the hour and we could be moved if we wanted. We declined as it was no problem to us listening to the DJ and provided some background music which we really didn’t mind at all. The only small negative that I can give which doesn’t even need mentioning really was that we were asked if we wanted any sauces and we we asked for tomato ketchup but this was never brought to the table. In the end we didn’t need it so didn’t say anything. The meal and everything was fantastic and I would definitely recommend to others and would visit again.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are well priced especially for the amazing quality along with the good portions. I would highly recommend going for a nice meal as a treat. I've been a few times and haven't been disappointed.

Sadly it was raining the day we visited it. The grounds are lovely with a big lake, child friendly and plenty of parking. I stayed in this hotel 2 years ago, the rooms we had were big and extremely comfortable. The food is v good with helpful staff. There is the choice of an informal bar with some great secluded seating spots , (you never sit too near to other diners), or a more formal dining area. Certainly somewhere to return to.

Our party of stalwart adventurers were famished... nay!, positively ravenous when we espied the Worplesdon Place Pub from afar. We rocked up and took to the huge garden area where we discovered many tables suitable for our needs and made a note of a number of individually sheltered tables for the less hardy folk or if the weather were to be inclement. However, on this day of days, the weather was with us and the setting sun was casting a warm glow over the proceedings. We ordered our food at the bar, took to our seats and within but a short number of heartbeats and good conversation the finest vittles this side of forever were showered down like a gentle rain of ambrosia from above. The upshot was it was right tasty and I was too busy stuffing it in my face and thoroughly enjoying it to take any pictures. So, I'll leave it up to your imagination - no not my face, the glorious food stuffs foolish mortal! Reasonably priced - will be rocking up again soon when the wind is at our backs and the sun is in the sky! UPDATE: We went back and this time I had the foresight to take a picture of the food before rather than after.

Great service and the food was so good. One of our party described their Lamb & apricot sausages as "banging", which apparently means they were amazing! Thank you and will definitely be back :)

Large bedroom in main house with nice views of the garden and comfortable bed , but this is an older property so don’t expect things to be modern , there at all or where you want them to be .

I stayed here after having an issue with the Travelodge and I am glad that I did. The hotel was lovely and the staff were amazing… but just a few issues let it down for me in terms of the service standards. Just little things like having a staff member burst into my room without knocking before checkout in the morning whilst I was still asleep. When having breakfast the staff loudly talking about vomit and making wretching sounds really isn’t appealing to listen to… they were very friendly team but it would have been nice to be able to have not been listening to whilst having breakfast. The fan didn’t have the protective cover on in the room and I did bash my hand on it when reaching for my phone in the morning.

Such a great place to eat and drink I was in there tonight with my Date and we really enjoyed it the atmosphere was good the food was delicious and the drink was good too, eaten there a few times with Family and Friends and never disappoints, might try their rooms out at some point but as a restaurant and bar I highly recommend Them.

We hired out the back function room for a wedding reception. Everyone enjoyed the food, drinks and service. Several of the guests stayed at Worplesdon Place and were very happy with their rooms. Many thanks to Jack, John and the rest of the team for looking after us!

Excellent all round. A beautiful setting, warm welcome, fantastic service (thank you Livia!) and the food was first class. We both had the trout, which we would highly recommend, done to perfection. Thanks everyone, we will definitely be back.

Fantastic location, lovely food all served by helpful friendly staff. Spent a very pleasant afternoon by the lake on the huge lawns. There is so much space here with the tables well spaced apart and separate areas for families with children to roll down the hills and play in the wooded play area.

Great place, beautiful grounds. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Food is also delicious. Its best in the summer where you can be outdoors. They are dog friendly and can prebook for large groups if needed.

I do not recommend having the Afternoon Tea.at The Worplesdon Place. Yesterday a group of 6 mums arrived having had afternoon tea booked for several weeks only to be told they didn't have our booking as we'd booked through groupon & they don't seem to link the bookings together. Their problem not ours & one that needs to be rectified asap. After checking with the chef we were informed that we could stay for our afternoon tea, great, we were shown to a table & soon after we were bought a glass of Prosecco each & pots of tea. Would have preferred tea in cups & saucers rather than the chunky mugs we were given, but never mind! When the food arrived on 3 slate looking tiles there was 16 finger sandwiches, so only enough for 2 each & when we asked for more we were told no! There was 1 scone each with plenty of jam & cream which was nice but the cakes after were very disappointing as they were more like dessert, chocolate torte, lemon tart & apple pie, again there was not enough of these for everyone & they were very small portions. Staff were not very attentive, we had to keep asking for more tea. An older couple came in for afternoon tea later on & they were given 8 finger sandwiches between them which I think is much more acceptable that just 2. Anyway after having my afternoon tea, I then went home & had dinner as normal, which I shouldn't have needed!

Lovely setting and decor. This is the second time here meeting friends for breakfast Unfortunately, again the service was very slow and the breakfast was awful. We had to wait as there were no eggs left so had to go and buy some more, fair enough I suppose that can happen if very busy! We asked for a pot of tea, it didn't come so had to remind the waiting staff. There was a dribble of juice left and no bread for toasting. When we eventually got our breakfast, we had one egg rather than two, stated on menu, streaky bacon not back bacon, half a sausage, quarter tomato and about a desert spoon of backed beans. It was tiny, not worth the £8.99 price. We will be choosing a different venue for our meet up next time which is a shame as it is a lovely place and convenient for all of us who come from different areas.

The venue is set in beautiful grounds. The staff were excellent, very friendly and courteous. We were staying over for a wedding. The reception was very nice. Excellent BBQ and the room was very clean and well decorated. Breakfast in the am was good too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the room we stayed in was a little dirty there were spilt drinks on the walls and were next to the extractor funnel for the kitchen so it was a little noisy but not enough to put us off. On the whole I would recommend but avoid room 11 unless you want to hear every person coming up the stairs and smell all the food being cooked.

I went for a prosecco cream tea for my sisters birthday a few weeks ago and for Sunday lunch with my family yesterday. On both occasions the food was well presented and tasty. The staff are very attentive and catered to all of our needs. I would recommend it for families with children as it has a lovely garden area and play area.

My review!!! I strongly would not recommend dinning out here. After being seated waiting nearly an hour for our food then to be told that the order was not processed properly. When the food finally arrived it was cold and the vegetables were over cooked and rock hard not even edible!! customer service was extremely poor not even so much as a apoligy from the manger

I've been here quite a few times with family and every time has been amazing! HOWEVER yesterday's visit was very disappointing! We came for lunch, ordered and everything was fine, kids where playing in the park, food arrived and just put on the table outside, I asked where cutlery and sauces where kept, and sternly told 'inside' no clue as to where! I went in to get them only to find minimal sauces no salt and no forks! Had to wait 10minutes for someone to get forks and sauces by this time our food was cold! It's very disappointing as this place usually has amazing staff and service, the girl who brought our food out just didn't seem to care and wasn't happy. I can't say I'll never go back as it is a lovely place however I do hope on my next visit I have a far more pleasant experience.

We visited today at lunch time for a Sunday roast.I was extremely disappointed with the meal, the vegetables were stone cold and one of our meals were missing the stuffing and crackling. The waitress that served us didn't come and ask if the meal was okay and when the table was cleared we also were not asked if everything was okay. The restaurant seemed extremely rushed and as though they had to many tables that they could cope with. We will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone.

We had superb lunch yesterday,I went with 3 friends and we all had different meals and they were all delicious, particularly recommend the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, best cheesecake I've ever tasted. The service was brilliant and friendly.will be coming back soon!!!.

Had afternoon tea with prosecco to celebrate my wedding anniversary. It was lovely, good fresh selection of sandwiches, cakes, macaroons and scones, a pot of tea and lovely attentive staff. We were sat in a very quiet area which was nice.

Went for a Sunday roast. Was delish. Very friendly staff apart from one particular barman who was ok with us but was a bit abrupt with a couple of other customers! Overall though a positive visit!
