In reply to the Thomas Jackson review as a partner in the coffee shop I would like to put our side of the story across. Mrs Jackson rang the shop making an enquiry about funeral catering for 60 not 70 as wrongly stated in East Barkwith, she explained what food was required and my daughter said she would ring her back with a quote. When she rang back half an hour later Mrs Jackson was not in so she left a message with her daughter in law who said the venue had moved to Hainton but they were not sure about the tea and coffee making. The next day Mrs Jackson rang the shop complaining no one had rung back, my daughter explained the previous day conversation with her daughter in law and she didn’t know anything about it. She said she would ring the Henage at Hainton and get back to us. We did not hear anything else until late afternoon the day before the funeral when a man asked what time we were bringing the food. My daughter explained that Mrs Jackson never rang back to confirm that she wished to go ahead with the booking and we didn’t, think our services were required, we had received no confirmation of the booking, numbers or times or if beverages were required. When my daughter rang Mrs Jackson to explain she was extremely abusive towards my daughter completely blamed her for everything including telling her she thought her parents would be extremely proud of her losing business and because she hadn’t, rung back we should have rung her etc.. We get enquiries all the time people do not ring back because they have chosen to use someone else it’s not up to us to chase people up. When I took the phone from Hayley Mrs Jackson hung up. I tried to ring back but there was no answer I left ONE message not numerous messages and all it said was I did not appreciate her tone with my daughter and it was not up to us to chase enquiries I do not think that’s offensive at all. Negative reviews from people who do not know all the facts should be ignored.

Just because they don't go OTT don't judge them. They're good Lincolnshire folk and there are Lincolnshire folk that just quietly get on with their jobs - some of these work at Shortcakes. If you're from Lincolnshire you'll understand.

Wonderful service, only had tea and cake but very enjoyable. And my wife said it was the best latte she has ever had.

I seriously challenge anyone to find a better cappuccino anywhere !
