Nice dining areas and menu - much more restaurant-like than pub-like. Wonderful food, and my medium-rare rib eye was perfectly cooked. Side dishes (salad, roated vegetables, onion rings, mushroom and tomato) were all excellent too. Friendly, cheerful service - thanx, Stacey! Adjacent to Premier Inn, and convenient to the Holiday Inn.

Food was delicious best I've ever had at a beefeater. Best waitress Carol or Claire. So polite, lovely chats and on the ball. First time I've ever praised a waitress and given her a tip. My partner knows I don't like many people who serve me. But she went back and beyond for us. Would come again when next in the area.

A group of 8 of us descended on the Royal Oak after a great time in Trossly country Park. Gail who served us couldn't have been more helpful. We had a good meal, time in between courses to draw breath. There was a good choice of food, and I can highly recommend the warm chocolate brownie. Thank you Gail C - you were brilliant.

Came here for Sunday lunch on a busy Sunday with some family. We hadn't booked, and we were seated rather quickly after a nice drink at the bar. My partners dietary requirements were attended to without fault, which felt very accommodating. Service was speedy and consistent, making us feel welcome at all times. The quality of the food was incredible - everything was perfect. Usually when you go for a meal, there may be one thing that's average. In this case, all was very, very enjoyable. The portion sizes were very good value for money, and very well presented too. The experience was wonderful, and I would definitely return in future. Coffee tasted great too, which is always a perfect compliment to a lovely meal, as did the scrumptious Lemon Tart and Cadburys Crunchie Cheesecake. Many thanks to all the chefs, the accommodating and knowledgable manager and also to Sue (an asset to the business) for her relentless energy, natural enthusiasm and caring attitude.

Update August 2023 Had a great wholesome breakfast, staff very good. Update June 2023 Looks like the front entrance has been changed and smartend up. Staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the vegan sausages were not available. Update March 2023 Took advantage of a 40% off meal deal. Food and service as expected. Had Abbot beer on tap. Great breakfast and very attentive staff. Update December 2022 still have great funny friendly staff.
