Just the best place. Excellent fresh, healthy and tasty food, interesting menu with flexibility re 'extras'. Very friendly staff. Delicious cakes and lovely environment. No bookings, so be prepared to queue, but it's worth it.
There were 5 of us for brunch, including 2 small children which were accommodated for perfectly. The brunch was the best I’ve had for ages possibly ever in york. The staff were all lovely. We had to wait for a table for about 20 mins as it’s all quite small tables but the staff did everything they could to get us a table as quick as poss.
This was a nice experience. We had breakfast on a Sunday morning and it was so busy that we queued for 30 minutes before we could get a table.
We order the pancakes with a side of hash browns, which were fluffy and yummy, and the cheese and ham sandwich. The bread was absolutely delicious and the proportions of ingredients was excellent. The fries were crispy and flavourful and complimented the meal perfectly.
My partner had an Earl grey tea that was lovey, and I had an Americano that I could not drink. They serve an organic type of coffee and I didn’t like it at all. I’d recommend that they served the regular coffee as an option for those clients that are not very familiar with the taste of the organic coffee.
I would recommend them as the food was great and the staff was friendly!
100% true to the hype! I recommend arriving at Brew & Browning 10-15 min. before they open to stand in line and peruse the menu. B&B was easily one of the best breakfasts we had during our UK holiday – the staff was lovely, the coffee was superb and the food was memorable. Highly recommend the pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs – some of the best I’ve ever had!
Lovely stop a couple of days ago for a hot chocolate and cake. Had the biscoff hot chocolate and my partner had the Terry's hot chocolate with a brownie. Good selection of cakes and breakfast and brunch foods, although we didn't have anything savoury it looked great what we could see. There seems to be a que always to get in and space is limited inside, so can be a little tight around the tables. Staff very nice and good service.
We had the best breakfast ever! The place is really cute, very clean and also decorated with style! Staff is simply excellent! Everyone was lovely and smiling. Service amazing. We sat down, ordered in a few minutes time and get the food piping hot very quickly. The food is definitely the best part.. AMAZING. I had some avocado on toast and my husband an English breakfast. Big portion, great quality and they have an hot chocolate to die for! We'll definitely come back and visit again!
We came in for breakfast on a weekend 7 minutes after it opened and there was already absolutely no seating space — so highly recommend coming early.
The food is quite lovely and their selection is baked good looks very tempting — however we didn’t try any. We ordered orange juices, iced lattes, the seasonal pancakes and the corn fritters for two of us.
The pancakes were absolutely delicious, the mascarpone is a game changer, however it would have been nice to have more compote or honey or some sort of liquid because without it they felt a bit dry.
The corn fritters were quite interesting and tasty too! Overall, a good place for breakfast!
Perfect place for a date brunch or for grabbing the most amazing cakes ever! There is always a queue but it's worth the wait, and I'm not surprised since the food is so wholesome and rich. I had the avocado toast with two scrambled eggs.
As with a lot of the well known establishments there was a queue to get inside but wasn’t waiting outside for long.
The guy who sat us down was super friendly and welcoming.
Food and drink was reasonably price and even though not much choice still something for everyone.
I ended up getting avocado toast with poached egg and halloumi. Definitely a good choice. Unfortunately the egg was a little hard in the middle and not as running as I would have liked but still delicious.
The vanilla coffee was good too 👌🏼
If you find yourself in York, these pancakes are a delightful brunch essential that you shouldn't miss. On my next visit, the enticing French toast is definitely on my radar. The eggs were spot-on in both flavor and texture, and opting for a half-stack of pancakes should suffice unless you're exceptionally ravenous and seeking a sugary indulgence.
We had iced vanilla coffees and the lemon posset French toast, all of which was top notch. Staff were friendly and warm, bringing water to our table without us having to ask, even throwing some ice in our glasses. I would definitely recommend and visit again.
Had a lovely cup of Organic Redbush tea and a slice of the vegan Pumpkin, pecan, ginger and Maple loaf, delicious!
They also have a Bakeshop a couple of doors down so I bought a Raspberry and White Chocolate Brownie to take home, also vegan. Most of their brownies and cakes however are not vegan but I've always managed to get something vegan.
