Welcomed with open arms , enjoyed a no pressure drink in the snug , before getting our table , service was exceptional, really friendly laid back attitude the food was as good as our welcome , a simple well executed menu , quality food with a little twist . After finishing dinner we were put in to another snug for coffee in front of the ever burning log fire 🔥. No pressure on time , which made my wife & I feel relaxed & very full . A hidden gem . Lovely meal lovely staff . Thanks for a lovely evening 🍾👍 I never mention food I believe people need to try for themselves , but the scallops were world class . Thanks again

Celebrated my Fathers 99th birthday with a Sunday lunch. Nothing was too much trouble. Superb food and ambiance. Special thanks to our waiters Ruben, Julian and Rob. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Amazing from moment we booked until moment we walked out door, nice wee touches including the lady who takes your coat and points out toilets to the very friendly and knowledgeable waiting staff, we even got a complimentary birthday cake as visit was between birthdays, and food was fantastic.
We had a lovely meal here. The chicken was the softest and most moist i have ever had. Only downside was my husband asked for mustard to accompany his beef and it came as he was nearing finishing. Lovely restaurant. I was given a birthday cake but too full to have any so was wrapped up in foil shaped like a swan.to take home. Will definitely be returning. Thankyou.

Without doubt the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had (better than The Principal York & better than The Grand). The quality and variety of sandwiches and cakes is quite amazing and the finish lavished on them is equally amazing. Service was kindly and discreet. So, if you want a real afternoon tea treat in lovely surrounding that’s well beyond the norm, go to the OXO!
