House Of The Trembling Madness - York - Photo album

I highly recommend the House of the Trembling Madness if you're ever in York. This lovely pub is located upstairs, above the shop. Check out their daily specials, particularly their stews. I had their venison stew which was delightful. Vegans and Vegetarians - there are options for you as well. We
The shop has an incredible selection of beers and spirits! Upstairs the bar is Old World, Game of Thrones vibe - wonderful to sit in and enjoy drinks! We ordered some great beers and the bread and dips which was delicious!
Discovered it by accident and I’m happy I did. You enter and it’s basically a mini market with tonnes of beer all in excellent prices. Go upstairs to the small pub for superb beer selection and a small kitchen where the guys will cook huge portions of excellent food. Honestly they are huge and super
We were recommended this place as a weird and wonderful experience that we must check out when in York and it couldn't have been more accurate. It's definitely different to what a normal pub is. You enter on the ground level with every bottle of spirit that you could possibly imagine on offer to buy
Great quirky little pub upstairs from the shop.. Very individual style, greaat food and wine selection, many craft beers also.. Definitely will be going back
Amazing place. A huge selection of beers, wines and spirits on the ground floor and in the basement. Upstairs is an amazing bar serving a great range of drinks. A great many things adorn the walls from animal heads to human skulls.
A fantastic place that we always love visiting in York. We had a few beers one night and breakfast the next day.
Real hidden gem in York. Basement has a better then average choice of Whisky/Rum/Gin etc. Ground floor is Craft Beer heaven (plus a fairly decent choice of Cuban cigars) & the top deck is a cool little bar. Highly recommended & I will visit again when I am next in York

Found this hidden gem on Google Maps and had to stop in for a bite and a pint for dinner. The building this pub is housed in made me feel like a wary traveler from the 1400s. Had the venison stew and a mango cider, which were both really good. People talk about how bad the food is in England, but I'
